I declined to provide any personal information, and the caller suggested that I pop into my nearest branch for verification. However, in Essex, those branches are few and far between. To clarify things, I reached out to the Bank of Scotland directly, and they assured me that there had been no attempts to contact me. Just a word of caution, especially for those who have recently received a PPI payout - it seems that fraudsters are cooking up new tricks. BE WARY!
