I got a message saying my phone was locked because it was reported lost or stolen and that I needed to send it back to Amazon where I bought it. The message told me to ring a certain number. When I called, the guy on the other end acted really odd and started asking for my personal info, so I just hung up. The worst bit is they somehow managed to block my phone properly, so now I can’t use it at all. Very dodgy situation.

POTENTIAL SCAM AMAZON SUPPORT I found this number on some site (might’ve been a forum but I was knackered and thought it was from one of my Amazon tabs). Dialled it and a recorded message asked me to punch in a three-digit code. Then, weirdly fast, I was through to a real person! Didn’t share any personal info, but ended up chatting for ages, supposedly getting help. Now I’m worried I’ll be hit with an enormous phone bill next month. We all can be caught out when we’re having a rubbish day - just be careful!

Yeah, this looks like a clear Amazon account hack attempt. I got this weird text out of the blue with a password reset code before I even asked for it. Something felt off straight away. I had a quick Google to check but didn’t trust the info there, so I went straight to amazon.co.uk instead of amazon.com, I believe. After that, I opened a real email from Amazon and used the link in there. I logged in like normal and now I’m safely inside my account.

Received a ring from this number, and I've seen what others have been sharing regarding it. It appears to be linked with Amazon, supposedly dealing with password resets and such like. Honestly, I'm quite sceptical about the whole thing, especially since I've not encountered any password problems on my end.

I rang this number cause my phone got infected with something and I couldn’t get into my Amazon account. I ended up speaking to someone whose English was terrible, she couldn’t understand the email I was saying after trying 3 times. Then she told me the email doesn’t exist and just ended the call. If this is genuinely Amazon’s support, I’d be really worried. Felt super uneasy after, so I called my bank straight away and blocked the card linked to my account. Honestly, zero for customer service here.

They rang me twice while I was working. It's some Asian firm pushing life insurance. First time I was polite and said I wasn't interested. My dad got a call from this number after seeing a message on what looked like Amazon’s site, saying his account was locked. This scam is really clever - they get into your email, switch the phone number or something, then you click on a link that takes you to a fake site telling you to call a certain number. Amazon told me that number isn't theirs at all. It’s probably some kind of scam trying to get your info or maybe steal cash, I’m not sure. If you end up calling that number, don’t share any personal details with them.

This was a pretty clever scam. They somehow got into my email and swapped out my phone number or something, then sent me a link that looked legit. When I clicked it, it took me to a fake website telling me to call a certain number. I checked with Amazon, and they said that number has nothing to do with them. Seems like a phishing attempt trying to get your personal details or maybe scam you out of cash. Whatever you do, don’t share any info if you call that number!

Watch out for this number, it’s sketchy. I reckon they’re into email hacking and then sneaky stuff on Amazon accounts, like swapping phone numbers so they can hijack your password reset or get some security code sent to them. I stumbled across a dodgy site that wasn’t very believable and it listed this number. When I called, the whole thing felt off immediately. To be sure, I phoned Amazon using their proper customer number I found and they told me this number has nothing to do with them. As a precaution, I wiped all my payment info and delivery addresses from my Amazon profile. At least now they can only see my old purchase history. Pretty much a nasty scam designed to lure you into calling and handing over your details. Stay safe out there!
