Had a call like others mentioned here; the person on the line had a thick accent and just seemed to be reading off a script, couldn’t even answer my basic questions properly. It felt really dodgy. I kept pressing them on where they got my landline number from since it’s not connected to anything about my computer ownership or registration. They just dodged the question. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust these folks at all.

This number called me too, saying my computer had lots of errors and warnings. I was pretty surprised since I own two laptops and a desktop. They asked me to switch on one device, then showed me the issues it had. I did the same with my other devices and, to my shock, it seemed like all of them were getting infected daily. I got worried, but they told me not to stress. They linked all my machines to their server and spent around 45 minutes diagnosing and fixing the problems. That’s when I realised my security software was outdated. They advised me to renew it. At first, I wasn’t sure, but once I saw the secure gateway pop up, I felt more at ease and signed up. Now all my gadgets have a warranty. Big thanks to Windows PC Support, especially Charles and John!

Got a weird call from this number the other day. The person on the other end spoke really broken English and seemed like they were just reading from some prepared script. They claimed my home computer was sending loads of error alerts and that they could log in remotely to sort it out. Totally felt like a scam to me. It's crazy that this kind of stuff keeps happening. Surely something should be done to stop people or companies pulling these tricks - it’s criminal behaviour, honestly.

Got a call from this number, and they wanted me to log onto my PC and let them in. Once connected, they started digging through private documents and password stuff that's meant to be secure. Seriously, if this number rings you, never ever share your info or let them in, no matter what they say.

Today I got a phone call from some supposedly PC Support team warning me my computer was in trouble. They went on to take control of my PC, saying they were repairing it. When I asked for their contact info and where they're based, they gave me a phone number and address. But then I noticed my internet wasn’t working at all and when I tried ringing their number, no one picked up. Now I'm starting to think I've been caught in a scam.

Would you just let a stranger from the bank stroll into your home and riffl through your wallet or purse? Of course not. So why ever let some random caller do the same thing by accessing your computer? It’s surprisingly easy for them to pretend they’re fixing your PC while all they’re really doing is nicking your passwords or forcing you onto costly subscription plans. Just don’t fall for it.

Some bloke called James Parker rang me, talking with a South Asian accent, saying he was from Windows Support. I asked him for his phone number and told him straight up that I thought he might be pulling a scam. He gave me this number, so I looked it up online and found this and other warning pages.

This has all the hallmarks of a complete scam. I reckon a lot of the folks defending it here are probably working for the scammers themselves. If you’re not sure, just do a quick search on Google about Microsoft or Windows support scams and you’ll find plenty of warnings. Earlier today, I received a call from a number I didn't recognise, and the person said they were calling on behalf of Windows. At first, I assumed it was just some annoying sales pitch. But it turned out to be a routine check-up for my PC. They walked me through the errors and warnings on my system and helped clear them out. My computer is quite old and was running really slow, but within an hour they removed all the corrupted and infected files. I also found out my security subscription had run out, so I ended up renewing it then and there. The whole experience was surprisingly good - the guys, Charles and Martin Jones, were patient and seemed genuinely concerned. Big thanks to them!

This has all the hallmarks of a con. I got a call from them previously and naively let them get into my PC. I noticed they were installing some dodgy software and then tried to convince me that some legitimate files were actually corrupted. All the while, they distracted me with other chat so I didn’t really notice what was going on. After that, they asked for £100 so I could buy their “fix” software. I rang up the company behind the software they mentioned and they confirmed it’s a total scam. PLEASE WATCH OUT. THEY’RE NOT PART OF MICROSOFT... also their English was really poor... I’ve reported them for phishing!

So, this woman called me, went by the name Jane, and told me there was an issue with my computer software. She had a really nice tone, which made me feel a bit more at ease. I was a bit sceptical at first, but when I checked my computer, I was honestly shocked by what I found. Turns out, the call was legit after all. I ended up using their service and support, and it actually helped.

Some bloke called Robert told me there were security problems on my computer. I asked him to give me his number so I could ring him later. He tried to get me to log into my PC straight away. I said I'd get my husband to ring back since he knows IT stuff. Robert hurried to end the call as soon as possible. The accent he had made me doubt Robert was even his real name.

Honestly, I was a bit suspicious at first too, thinking it was some sort of scam, but honestly, this company is the real deal. They offer unlimited support for everyone. I received a call myself and was hesitant, but they had the CLSID number tied to my computer, which convinced me. They pointed out loads of issues on my PC and even fixed them for me. Today, someone rang me saying my PC had loads of errors and that Microsoft supports them. They asked me to open the run command and showed me some error messages. It all sounded a bit dodgy to me. I asked for their phone number and told them to ring me back next week. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Just got a call from some bloke claiming to be John Brown - definitely not his real name with that accent! He was going on about how ads popping up on social media and other sites were messing up my computer. I told him I’ve got an ad blocker, so that can’t be right. Then he tried saying the ads appeared before I had it, but I told him I’ve always used one... maybe a tiny fib, but we all fudge the truth sometimes! I asked for his phone number and told him I’d ring back if I actually had issues. His number? Straight in the bin where it belongs!

Some bloke told me my computer had viruses and then got me to let him take over it, no idea what he did after. Next thing I know, it cost me $199 - that's roughly £153. I swear I even heard claps and cheers as soon as the payment was accepted.

So I got this call from someone saying my computer was full of corrupt files, and I actually believed it. I ended up spending about $150 on a security service that lasts three years. I’m not sure what the best next step is now. Any advice?
