This sounds like a scam pretending to be Boku or one of their clients who handle payments. They haven't actually taken any money from me. If you call them back, they try to get you to pay some supposed "arrears" in order to close the account and avoid further issues. Complete nonsense.

Honestly, this number seems quite sketchy to me since I’ve never come across it before. I called it after seeing a text I got today from them claiming to be some third party working with Microsoft, Google, Spotify and so on. What bugs me is, if they’re legit, why didn’t they inform me by text when charges first appeared on my phone bill? They only messaged me now, which feels really dodgy. I’m thinking it’s safer to just handle all payments directly through my bank from now on. Feels risky dealing with stuff like this over the phone.

This number has sent me about 10 texts claiming to be from Boku, all about payments on my daughter's phone for PlayStation stuff. Lately, she's been getting voice messages on Snapchat from a lad who sounds like he’s saying he’s the one using her number to make these buys. I rang my mobile company and so far, no fees have been applied, but they advised me to call back tomorrow to be sure.

Seems like a sneaky new way they’re making money, but honestly, don’t reply or call back anything from this number or it could add up fast. Be careful, it looks like PayPal’s finding new ways to nick cash from people without them realising.

I got caught up in a text message scam recently. A mate of mine had their Instagram account hacked, and the scammer pretended to be them. They messaged me from 78660 asking me to reply with ‘Opt out’. Thinking it was legit, I replied twice and it ended up costing me £50. Proper dodgy stuff.

Got a bunch of texts saying ‘thank you for signing up to Spuul for £2.99 a month’ then another one saying ‘You've been unsubscribed’. Spuul is an app where you watch Bollywood and Indian films! I got about 5 messages like this and then noticed my phone bill had been hit with £2.99 charges each time. Didn’t have a clue about any of this till I checked bills online. I just assumed it was spam and deleted the messages, but probably should have kept them as proof. Turns out "Payforit" is a payment system, like PayPal, used for stuff bought from places like the Play Store or Microsoft Store via your phone. Not sure what my next step is, but I’m definitely starting by calling my network provider tomorrow to sort this out.
