Initially, when I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end, leading me to decide to block the number altogether. Since then, we've chosen to disregard it. However, I've noticed that even after blocking, my phone still rings whenever they try to get through, displaying it as ‘blocked’. Today, I took the plunge and answered, as my wife was having a rough time and was resting. A pleasant lady, sounding middle-aged, introduced herself and mentioned her company was acting on behalf of a firm that I supposedly reached out to regarding a reassessment of our council tax band. I told her I had made no such inquiry. She suggested it might be an old request that I had forgotten about and inquired if I wished to receive the results regardless. I declined. She assured me they would erase my details from their system.
