5 yearsOver the past few weeks, this number has rung me up a handful of times. The first few times I answered, there was nobody there, so I ended up blocking it. Even after blocking, the phone still rings when they call, but it shows as ‘blocked’ on the screen. Today, since my wife’s unwell and sleeping, I picked up. A polite lady, sounding middle-aged, said she was calling on behalf of a company connected to a council tax band reassessment I supposedly requested. I told her we hadn’t asked for anything like that. She suggested it might be an old enquiry I forgot about and asked if I still wanted the outcome, which I declined. Then she said they’d take me off their list. I didn’t ask for that, and honestly, why has it taken this long for them to reach out?
