Hey, just a heads up to anyone looking at this - seriously double check your bills! Over the past few months I’ve noticed I’m being charged way more than I should, and I’m starting to think it’s on purpose. After 16 years with Vodafone, I’m done with them. This morning, I got a call twice from this number. First time I missed it but then I called back on my BT landline. The reply was some robotic voice asking me for personal details and account info. Then not long after the same number rang me again, this time a man speaking English with an accent that didn’t sound British - maybe Romanian or Russian? He asked for my account number and confirmed my name. I tricked him by saying the person he wanted wasn’t home and that I’d saved the number so they could ring back. He then asked when he’d be back. Honestly, I told him he’d call when he returned. The guy sounded a bit rude and no way was that accent from Vodafone customer service, I’m sure of that.

SO YEAH, VODAFONE rang me about some new loyalty perks and actually knocked £6 off my monthly bill. I've got 6 lines with them so it’s not a huge discount but every little helps right? Fraudulent phone calls purporting to be from Vodafone have been persistent. These callers are utterly insistent on obtaining details of my Vodafone account before they will even consider taking me off their list. I'm resolute in my decision not to share any account information because: 1) There's no way for me to ascertain if this telemarketer is genuinely affiliated with Vodafone. 2) I've already contacted Vodafone directly to ask them to remove me from their mailing list. For all I know, this could very well be a clever ploy to harvest my personal information with the intent to gain access to my Vodafone account.
