had a look online and this number is from the US. sounds like the usual premium rate stuff. but weirdly, i reckon it’s actually linked to india somehow. every time i block it, my pay as you go balance drops by 10p, then another 15p when a message pops up saying i missed a call. i’m sure my phone isn’t set up for that - looks dodgy to me. be careful and keep an eye on your phone bill, these are definitely cold calls trying to nick your cash.

This number has rung me a couple of times lately and honestly, I have no clue who it is. I’m really fed up with spam calls, so I usually just let it ring out and then check 1471 to see who called. Because of this, I missed a couple of calls from people who actually needed to get in touch - one even left a voicemail but cut off before giving their details, and the other was from a mobile number I didn’t recognise. I didn’t bother calling back because I assumed it was just another nuisance call. That person ended up calling me about four times during the day before I finally picked up. I’m so annoyed with these calls! They always want to speak to my husband, and when I say he’s not here, they ask for me. As soon as I try to say I’m not interested, they just ignore me and keep going. Then suddenly they hang up, only to ring back shortly after and do the exact same thing all over again. This number rings up both me and my partner - sounds like it’s from overseas, but turns out it’s actually in the UK. They couldn’t care less if you’re on the TPS, as they ignore the rules by faking an international location. When I notice a lag before they pick up, I usually hang up straightaway, but they’re quite stubborn and keep calling back. I really don’t want to be quizzed about my personal life, especially when I’m trying to enjoy my tea.

this number keeps calling us like 4 times each day, always asking for my son. They only know his first initial and can’t say his full name. The person on the phone sounds like they have a thick Asian accent. We keep telling them he doesn’t live here and to stop calling, but they just won't quit. On 12th Jan 2015 at about 4.18pm, I got a call from this number. When I told the person I wasn’t interested, they started yelling at me, which was quite scary since I was alone. I ended the call straight away, but I’m feeling really stressed because I keep getting calls, not just from this number. I’m on the do-not-call list or whatever it’s called, so I shouldn’t be getting these annoying cold calls!

Has anyone actually taken steps against these callers? I've been getting calls with no noise from this number for nearly a year. I've raised it here before, but nothing seems to change. Seriously, unknown.com, when will you actually do something about this? Feels like moaning on this site just doesn't do any good.

If you're fed up with all those annoying calls, grab yourself a BT 8500 call blocker like I did. Since getting mine, my phone's been quiet - hardly any spam or nuisance calls at all. Seriously, it’s a brilliant little gadget for cutting out unwanted ringers.
