WATCH OUT! This blocked number actually managed to get through to me. I accidentally called back a missed call from them, and to my shock, they answered as Scottish Power. What really creeped me out was they somehow figured out my hidden number and greeted me by my full name! I quickly said it was a pocket dial and not me, but they kept pushing until I hung up. I rarely get rattled, but this totally freaked me out. Just be super cautious with calls like this!

EXTREMELY RISKY Honestly, best to just ignore these calls. They’re also sending texts but their typing is so bad it’s kind of hilarious. To top it off, they leave voicemails and show up as “ScottishPower” on the caller ID - with no space between the words, just like in their texts. My advice? Delete the number, block it straight away, and don’t bother answering or listening to any messages from them.

Someone called me claiming to be from Scottish Power and sounded pretty legit, so I ended up giving them all my info, even the amount I owed. Later on, I looked up the number and it turned out to be a scam. I quickly moved my funds to another account and shut down the original one to be safe. Definitely learnt my lesson now. I'll make sure to contact Scottish Power directly to sort out my bill properly.

Total scam alert. They said they were calling from Scottish Power, claiming it was a ‘courtesy call’ to talk about payment options. Really pushy though and went silent when I mentioned I pay everything online. I then messaged Scottish Power on their chat and they confirmed nothing was amiss with my account, plus they wouldn’t be ringing about payment stuff since all my bills are paid. Best thing to do? A while back, they got slapped on the wrist by Ofgem and had to pay a massive fine of eighteen million for pestering their clients. Around 08.30ish on 6th February 2024, I received a call today. However, my phone only registered it as an 'incoming call'. The person on the line was a deep-voiced automated male recorded message. They instructed me to "Call me on 0800 952 4842" before abruptly ending the call. I promptly deleted the call.

The call came across as threatening and worrisome. I never return calls from unknown numbers and seldom answer if there is no caller ID.

It was my mistake, and I vow to not repeat it again in the future 😳

I withheld my number and decided to give this particular line a ring. Instead of the usual ringing tone, it emits a strange little beep and is picked up almost instantly by someone with an Asian accent. They greet me with, "Welcome to Scottish Power!" In contrast, whenever I've called numbers listed on my Scottish Power statements, it rings normally, slots me into a queue, and informs me that they're currently occupied, assuring me that my call will be attended to as soon as an operator is available. Quite the odd experience, isn't it?

When I tried asking about my account, they couldn't provide any answers at all. The person on the line, who spoke with a strong Indian accent, struggled to even comprehend the term 'region'. Just a friendly warning: watch out for these scammers!

Been getting calls and messages supposedly from Scottish Power but I ain't got no account with them. This has been happening for ages from loads of different numbers. I double checked with Scottish Power and they said all those numbers are bogus.

I received three calls claiming to be from Scottish Power. I found it a bit dodgy since I had just settled my bill a fortnight ago, and typically, they send out a bill as a matter of course. Something felt off about it all.

I get calls from an 0800 number pretty much daily, so I blocked it ages ago. They claim to be from Scottish Power, but I’ve never had any account with them. Scottish Power say it’s not them, but they don’t seem to care much that people are using their name to call.

I received a call from someone posing as Scottish Power. Since it was an 0800 number, I thought it would be legitimate and decided to ring them back. That's when it dawned on me that it was nothing but a scam. I've now blocked their number, and lo and behold, they followed up with a text claiming they needed to discuss my account, which they said was in arrears. What a cheek!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Scottish Power saying I owed money on my account, but I pay it every month and had just sorted it last week when my bill came through. There was loads of noise in the background, like a bunch of people shouting. The bloke wanted my full name and address, but I told him he should already have that info and asked for his bank details to sort the debt. He didn’t like that and started getting rude, so I told him to jog on and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call this morning around 8:30, they said they’d keep ringing me unless I did a security check. They claimed to be from Scottish Power up north and mentioned they usually email or text. They offered to sort it out over the phone but said if I didn’t do it then, they’d just keep calling.

Some woman called saying she was from Scottish Power. I gave her my name and address, but then she wanted my account number, which I couldn’t remember right away. She kept saying I’ve got two accounts with them and one was closed. Feels like a scam to me.

Got a call from a bloke with a Welsh accent claiming to be from Scottish Power, asking if he could talk about my account. He wanted me to answer some security questions and asked for my house number. I told him, but he never asked for my postcode, which seemed odd. Then he said his system wasn’t working properly and asked for my email address. I told him Scottish Power already has that info. He hesitated and asked me to hold while he checked something, but I just ended the call and blocked the number.
