I double checked the name with an email I got and it matched up. Turns out it’s a proper number used by Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland for their relationship growth team.

She said it was just to check I was the account holder, but I’m not giving out personal info over the phone. When I asked what it was about, she said she couldn’t explain unless I gave her the DOB. I refused again and she kept insisting she was from Lloyds. She told me to check the phone number on the back of my bank card. When I did, it wasn’t the same as the number she called from, which was 0800 9179328. So I just hung up thinking it’s probably a scam.

I got loads of calls from someone saying he was Pete Johnson from Lloyds Bank, always saying it’s nothing serious but he really needs to talk to me. It’s definitely a scam though, not Lloyds at all. They had my name and kept leaving voicemails.
