I got in touch with BT earlier and confirmed that the email and phone number are legit. We did tell them the email seemed a bit dodgy though. The upgrade is for unlimited calls from your landline, which is an add-on loads of people have had for yonks. You can either accept the price rise from about £10 every three months to roughly £23.50, or just bin the whole thing like I did, since we hardly ever ring from our landline these days.

I got an email that claimed to be from BT, even showing the last 4 numbers of my account. It said they were going to hike up my phone bill and told me to call 0800 917 4167 if I wanted to cancel. Something felt off, so I rang BT on their official number I found online. Turns out it was a total scam. Most BT scam emails are pretty obvious but this one was convincing and had bits of my actual account info. Watch out everyone, these scammers are stepping up their game!

I got an email supposedly from BT, with the sender showing as [email protected]. But when I hovered over the links without actually clicking, the URLs looked totally different. The message claimed they’d be switching my call plan to a new 'Unlimited Minutes' deal for an extra £4.50 starting from 1st September. I just shut down the email and went straight to BT’s official site. I used their live chat to ask a rep about it, and they confirmed the email wasn’t from BT at all. They advised me not to follow any instructions or click any links in that message.

Just got the same email here. I rang BT to make sure and they said it’s legit, even though it looked a bit generic to me. Apparently, they’re going to raise their prices. I haven't called the number mentioned yet though.

I got an email that looked like it was from BT saying they were switching our phone plan or something, but we haven't got any call plan with them at all. Seems dodgy to me.
