8 yearsI’ve come across this number, and it’s currently operating under the guise of Technocare Technology, or Techno Support, as they call themselves. Be warned, they're a scam outfit based in India. Don’t part with a penny and just hang up! They try to intimidate you by claiming your ID and passwords have been compromised, but it’s all a load of nonsense - just a bunch of con artists. These people are well-known scammers, so steer clear!Technocare TechnologyTechno SupportIndia9 yearsI initially believed I had landed on a Microsoft Outlook help page when a pop-up offering assistance appeared. I explained my issue, and was informed that a level 3 technician would need to give me a ring, requesting my contact number. Sure enough, a call came through from someone with an accent reminiscent of India, and he promptly accessed my laptop. He then alarmingly informed me that my IP address had been compromised and that repairs were needed, amounting to a fee of £199.00. When I expressed my desire for some guidance first, he instructed me to call back at 08009173627. At that moment, it clicked for me that Microsoft doesn’t charge for support, and I hung up. Just a heads up, the number he first reached me on was 08081890688, so keep your wits about you when seeking support!MicrosoftIndia9 yearsI’ve encountered a rather unpleasant situation that I believe others should be wary of. It all began with a pop-up claiming to be an urgent “Microsoft virus alert” accompanied by a blaring alarm sound. The display urged me to ring an 0800 number, which I unfortunately did. This led to me providing my credit card information for a supposed virus removal service from a company calling itself “US Connect Solutions,” and I was charged a hefty sum of £499. Once the realisation struck that I had fallen victim to a scam, I promptly shut down all my bank and credit card accounts. To my dismay, they have persisted in ringing me from numerous other numbers, trying to confirm if my computer is operating correctly-completely oblivious to the fact that they had gained unauthorised access. Please take heed!MicrosoftUS Connect Solutions9 yearsI fell victim to a scam, and it truly was a dreadful experience. They managed to seize control of my computer, and it wasn’t until I clued in that I quickly powered it down. Sadly, I had already shared my card information with these nefarious crooks-what a silly mistake! Fortunately, I acted quickly to cancel my card, and I've looped in both my bank's fraud department and Action Fraud. Thankfully, they haven’t made any attempts to siphon off funds yet! However, they keep bombarding me with phone calls, which I’ve taken to ignoring. Now, it seems I must seek out a professional to thoroughly clean my computer! What a nightmare!Action Fraud9 yearsThis is definitely a scam! They're pretending to be tech support for your computer, but all they really want is to gain remote access. Once they’re in, they might install malicious software and then expect you to pay them for that dubious "service." Best to steer clear!9 yearsA firm by the name of DIAL FORT SOLUTION has been trying to dupe my dad out of his cash by sneaking into his computer. They’ve bombarded us with calls today - I reckon around ten times! In the end, I just let the phone dangle off the hook. They even had the cheek to leave a recorded message, telling me to ‘kiss their backside’. Disgraceful behaviour!DIAL FORT SOLUTIONSubmit Your Own Report (0800 917 3627)
