someone called sam from santander but it felt sketchy, so i just ended the call once they asked for my birthday.

I just had a rather suspicious phone call from this number purporting to be the security team from Santander. I told the lady on the line I would ring her back. However, when I attempted to return the call, I was met with a recorded message saying the number I dialled isn't in service. Please exercise caution-this seems to be a scam!

I was almost tricked by this sneaky scam, it was really close! I ended up ringing my bank and they told me it was fraud. Definitely just hang up if you get a call like this.

So yesterday I got a message saying there was a weird charge of £239.99 on an online site. I called Santander but they couldn’t find anything on their end. Then today, a text popped up saying ‘SANTANDER SECURITY ALERT: Expect a call soon about suspicious activity. Your advisor is Samantha. Your one-time password is xxxxx.’ Samantha called me and said who she was. I whispered a bit but didn’t say anything back. Next thing, she just hung up. Very strange!

Got a call from a lady who said her name was Samantha about some dodgy charges on my account. She claimed there were three suspicious transactions, but I told her none of them were mine. I didn’t share my login info, but ended up giving my date of birth, where I live, and even the one-time code she sent - I thought it was from Santander at first, but later found out it was all a trick. ## If this number rings you, just ignore it and hang up. Don’t share any info and get hold of Santander yourself to sort it out and keep your account safe. ##

Got a text from someone called Samantha through what looked like my Santander message alerts, saying there was some strange activity on my account and to expect a phone call soon. It all felt quite convincing at first, but my doubts kicked in when she kept pushing me to log into my online banking even after I told her I wasn’t anywhere near a computer right then. She started sounding a bit annoyed and impatient with me. When I wouldn’t share the final ten digits of my card number, she just ended the call straight away. Nearly fell for it - they’re pretty clever with this stuff.

Absolutely dodgy! I've been contacted by these con artists a couple of times. The first time, they almost tricked me, sounding pretty legit until they asked for my PIN. As soon as I realised it was a scam, the guy got really nasty and started shouting insults at me. The second occasion, I played along to keep him talking, then told him bluntly, "Do you think I’m daft, mate?" That set him off again before I hung up. These people are just awful!!!

Got a call from someone called Samantha who said my account showed some dodgy activity and she needed to check it wasn’t me. I also got texts from a number that looked exactly like Santander’s. Seemed proper convincing, but it turned out to be a scam.
