This number has phoned me thrice today already. Each time I picked up. The first call had some odd music playing. The second, I kept saying hello for a good 30 seconds, it seemed like someone was on the line but not replying. On the third call, someone said hello and then just hung up as soon as I answered. I even contacted O2 after these calls and they told me they hadn’t been trying to reach me for any reason. My bill is all paid up, so there’s no reason for them to be chasing a late payment.

This is no scam at all! It was definitely 02 ringing me about a super overdue bill. I’d switched banks and thought all my direct debits would carry over, but somehow two didn’t, including the one for 02. I didn’t notice until my most recent bill showed up, so I called 0800 902 0209 to sort it out. Not long after, I got a call from the number above (though it had a different last digit) chasing the payment.
