I ignored the call and just looked up the number here straight away. If it’s npower, then they’ve got no right ringing me up - I’m not even a customer. Gonna go ahead and block the number now.

I ended my contract with this lot because they couldn't even spell my name correctly on the invoices. After three months of that nonsense, I opted for a different supplier. Even now, I keep receiving these bizarre bills from them. It's like they’re running a proper con! Best to steer clear of these people; I’d recommend blocking them altogether.

It’s the finance team from Npower I believe. Seems like they’re the ones doing outgoing calls, so if u call customer support they’ll probly just have the number for incoming calls.

Got a call from someone saying they were Npower, trying to do a security check and confirm I was the account holder. I wasn’t the account holder so they quickly lost interest in chatting to me since I couldn’t pass the security questions. I called Npower directly and they told me they never call customers or send emails like that. I asked them to check the number and they said it’s not one of theirs. Planning to report this as a scam to the Police.

Npower called me. I’ve already closed my account but apparently I still owe around £80, which they said they’ll take by direct debit next month. The guy, sounded like he was from Newcastle, tried to get me to pay right away. I told him “No, your website clearly says the payment’s next month.” Before I could even finish, the rude bloke just hung up on me as soon as he heard “No”. Pretty obvious he was just trying to get me to pay him sooner.

Had a call from someone claiming to be Npower. Even if you think you owe them money, this is a scam! Never share your details with them. Just tell them to sod off and hang up straight away. And seriously, don't hand over any card details!

Got a call from someone saying they were with Npower, asking for all my info. They wouldn't explain why they were ringing, just spouted the same old rubbish about security. Honestly, these lot are hopeless. No way am I giving out my personal or bank details! Told them straight to "get lost"! I don't owe them a penny and have already switched providers!

Got a call from NPower about a previous account linked to an old place and a final payment I supposedly owe. To be certain, I rang the legit NPower customer service myself and the lady there said the other number was indeed theirs. Definitely recommend ringing the official customer line to be sure and stay safe!

Some bloke with a Geordie accent rang me claiming to be from NPower financial solutions. I went along with a few 'security' questions, giving them my date of birth, which now I’m thinking was a bad move! Then he told me I failed the checks and should ring NPower myself. When I did, they said they hadn’t tried to get in touch and everything was fine with my account. Turns out it was a scam. They warned me to watch out for other calls like this trying to piece together info by asking other security questions. Be careful!

I wanna set the record straight for the muppet saying we’re dodging bills. I recently switched from npower and my final payment is only due next month. I’ve already covered half, and the rest will be sorted on pay day, well before their cut off. So until that deadline's passed, I really don’t need them hassling me with calls. Yeah, it was npower. The voicemail was from the slowest bloke ever, took ages to say nothing really. I guess they have some sort of call time goals or something. I rang back and it was about my last bill since I left. They were asking what my plans were for paying it. Told them I got an email saying not to stop my direct debit, they’ll just take the money as usual. I haven’t cancelled it at all, so dunno why they bothered ringing me up.

I can confirm the Geordie accent is legit since I’m from around here, and it’s not that simple to fake it. You can usually tell if it's genuine or not anyway. But honestly, the lady left her message suuuuppppeeerrr slooowwwly. I reckon I could’ve cooked a whole dinner while she was going on, and I’m rubbish in the kitchen!

My home phone's voicemail showed the number as 0008008838939. It's useful with my phone coz I can hear the outgoing message the caller hears, and then it plays on if they leave a message. Right away, the caller just hung up, not bothering to leave anything, so you can tell they weren’t all that keen to chat. No surprise, I end up here searching it. Got a call around 7:30 in the evening from a number I didn’t know, so I just ignored it. They left a voicemail with some bloke with a Geordie accent talking about an account and saying my full name. I checked with npower who denied any involvement, so I’d say just ignore this caller. The voicemail was odd too, after the message there was a long silence and then a weird grunt noise at the end. Definitely steer clear. I've blocked the number.

Rang me at half past seven in the evening, but as I didn’t know the number, I let it ring. They proceeded to leave a voicemail, which turned out to be a Geordie chap wanting to discuss an account under my full name. Naturally, I reached out to N Power, and they confirmed it wasn’t them, so I’ve decided to give this number a wide berth. The voicemail itself was quite odd-after the message, there was an awkward silence followed by a rather strange grunt at the finish. Definitely steer clear of them. I’ve added them to my block list.

after checking this site and two more, looks like it’s either npower or some scammer pretending to be them. i hardly pick up calls from unknown numbers. i owe money but told npower last week i’d settle it all next week. so if it’s really them chasing me, i can’t pay before then. i’ve got rent saved up, just £6 for food and travel to jobcentre on monday. unless they want me to miss rent, they’ll have to hang on a bit.

Having perused various comments, it seems this could very well be a scam from someone purporting to represent npower. Typically, I refrain from answering calls from unknown numbers and I always make it a point to research unfamiliar digits online. I am indeed a customer of npower and do have an outstanding balance; however, I’ve already reached out and informed them that I intend to settle the debt in full next week once I receive some funds. So if they're ringing me regarding that correspondence, they're barking up the wrong tree. At present, I’m left with a mere £6 for my groceries for the upcoming week and just enough for the bus fare to the job centre. If they can’t afford to be patient for a week, unfortunately, that’s beyond my control.

I didn’t pick up but they left a voicemail asking for a Mr or Mrs with a completely different name to mine, saying it’s about an unpaid Npower bill. In the past, I’ve actually got in touch with Npower customer service to complain about them bothering me and sending messages about meter readings (I’ve never had an account with them). Never got any response. Honestly, after all the hassle and nonsense, I’d never consider signing up with them. Someone really oughta sort out their constant pestering and shady business practices.

This number is clearly a scammer. They’ve been ringing me incessantly, claiming to represent Microsoft support, telling me there’s an issue with my Windows computer. The joke is, I don’t own a Windows PC! As someone who works in IT support, it was painfully obvious what their game was - a complete con! I played along for a bit, then confronted the caller (who had quite the thick accent) about their dishonesty and deceit. They promptly turned hostile and cut the call. Received a call this evening at 7:40 PM, and it's rather frustrating that it coincided with my recent change of energy supplier just yesterday. I’ve received a bill that states I owe £25 for electricity and £84 for gas, despite being on a prepayment meter - how on earth is that even feasible? It's quite unreasonable for them to start calling on the very day I got the bill! My experience with Npower has been dreadful; they never bother to read the meter and can’t seem to send a proper bill. All I’ve ever got from them over the last eight years are letters apologising for their shortcomings. I’ve made it clear that I won't be paying the bills they've issued, and I've reached out to request evidence of this supposed debt. I've now switched to Utilita, which is set to save me £800 a year!
