This number isnt some scam or spam like a few others have mentioned! It’s actually an automated line that was originally run by the Post Office for phone and broadband. They call you if there’s a problem with your payment or account. When you pick up, it lets you chat with a customer service rep if you want. Shell Energy took over the Post Office’s broadband and phone services back in March this year. They began switching Post Office customers to Shell Energy from August onwards. I reckon they’ve kept this service going but might change the name down the line.

Got calls from what claims to be Post Office broadband about owing money. Turns out they handed over the service to Shell Energy but still handle old customers through Post Office. The automated calls ask for part of my postcode to verify before telling me the amount I supposedly owe. I’m about to shut the account and honestly don’t owe anything, so these calls are just annoying rather than fraudulent.

I stayed on the line to chat with customer support - even tho I don’t owe any money, it seems you can’t really block these robot calls! They told me just to ignore them until it all sorts itself out. If you wanna double check, just pick up the phone and ask them to set up a promise to pay with a specific date you’ll pay by. Hang up, then ring them back on 03456003210 to make sure the promise to pay is on your account - then you can pay if you’re able.

Yeah, it's definitely PostOffice broadband. I just signed up recently and my payment is a bit late.
