Got a call from someone saying they were BT’s tech team. Total scam, not fooled by it!

Honestly, BT really should step up and figure out who's behind this mess before more people get caught up in it. It’s no good just hanging up when you get shaken up by these calls.

I really don’t get how they manage to have a freephone 0800 number. What’s going on with this place? We seriously need someone in charge to make sure the Regulators actually start doing what they’re meant to.

I got a robo call with some American accent telling me someone in California had hacked my broadband. Totally a scam, no doubt about it. Hope they catch these crooks soon!

Just like loads of others have said today, this caller pretended to be from BT and told me my line was at risk and about to be switched off. They said to press 1, but obviously I didn't bother. The robot voice had a really heavy American accent too, which gave it away straight away.

Similar to loads of folks here, I got a call saying BT had cut off my line cause it was hacked. The catch? I’m not even a BT customer! I just ended the call right away.

Same as the others I’ve seen today... weird American accent and says something like “press 1 to get more info.” I just ended the call straight away. Feels like it might link you to some number that ends up charging you!

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, saying my internet was compromised and that they were shutting it down. I just brushed it off. The person had a really strong American accent which seemed odd - I always thought BT used call centres based in England?

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT, said my phone line was in danger and they needed to fix it. Sounded dodgy to me 'cause they asked to get into my computer to install some "free security software". Told them to jog on straight away. Definitely a scam.

So I got a call from someone pretending to be BT, saying my internet was at risk because of some problem in California and that it was gonna be disconnected. They tried to get me to follow some steps to "fix" it, but honestly it just sounded dodgy. My advice? Just hang up and don’t do what they say, it’s definitely a scam.
