They rang up about some interest overpayment thing and asked me some stuff. I just made up the answers on the spot. When I said no one else could top the offer, he sounded a bit shocked. He tried to chat a little, mentioned he rarely sees his missus because of their different work shifts. I joked that maybe she preferred it that way, or that’s what she told me anyway. He chuckled, but a bit awkwardly. Then I told him to tell her next time I want my bacon well done and could I get my trousers back. That’s when he just hung up.
