Said they were conducting a survey. Asked if I’d called the Bank of Scotland, which I hadn’t, then wanted to know if I’d used some ‘automated system’ or something like that. The lady sounded very clear, with a bit of an Aussie or South African accent. She apologised for bothering me, said it might have been a mistake on their end, and then ended the call. This smelt like a really clever bank scam to me. Best not to get involved with these lot.

The person on the phone claimed they were ringing about an insurance claim from Lloyds Bank. When I questioned them, the woman stayed calm and spoke nicely, asking when would be a better time to ring back. I wouldn’t recommend getting involved with the call at all.

I usually pick up the phone and just say my last name in a really straight and serious way. The person on the other side must have got cold feet and ended the call.

Said they were from TSB bank, knew my name and branch, but had an Indian accent. Wasn’t happy with that so I just ended the call. Too many scams these days, so I only deal with my branch in person, no online banking for me. I’m planning to visit the bank tomorrow and sort it out. Far too much fraud going on, but they keep pushing this online banking stuff. Not impressed at all.

Just had a rather peculiar experience! A chap called my landline not long ago and, oddly enough, he seemed to know my complete name. I enquired about his identity, but to my surprise, he hung up before providing any details. Quite the mystery, isn't it?

I’m glad I decided to check this number online because it definitely looks like a scam. Next time they call, I might mess around and see who they actually are, or just answer like I usually do by pretending to be the Strathclyde Police fraud division. See how they react :)

Got a call from some robot voice claiming to be from HMRC about a fraud case involving me (they never said my actual name tho). The message told me to press 1 to speak to them or else a warrant would be issued right away and I'd get arrested soon. Bit scary but sounded dodgy to me.

They're actually legit. You usually get a call from them after dealing with a bank or your pension company. They’re just checking how happy you are with their service. You can easily find the company online if you look them up.

This number has been quite persistent, ringing me six times in the past week alone! Most of the time, they end up just leaving a message on my voicemail, as I'm at work during the day. Oddly enough, they never bother to leave any messages, which is rather peculiar. After reading what others have said, I think it’s best not to pick up, as it appears to be linked to some bank-related scam.
