Don’t listen to all those older folks saying it’s some kind of scam. It really is Sky calling, just trying to do some marketing. It’s pretty standard for them to ask for stuff like your name and address, because they need to be sure it’s actually you on the other end - your phone number could’ve been changed, or maybe lost or nicked, so they can’t be 100% sure it’s you just based on the number they’ve got. 0800 802 1945 rang me pretending to be Sky, saying they had a better deal for me. They wanted me to give my address and then asked for my password, which I told them I didn't remember. They offered to reset it for me, but I said no thanks. Even though I told them I was still in my contract, they kept insisting they could lower my bill. The call finished with them asking for my phone number and email, but I didn’t share that either. If this was a scam, how on earth did they get info about my Sky account?

They said they was calling from sky, tryin to see if they could cut my bill down. I’ve been a sky customer for 15 years and never once have they rang me up offering to lower my price. Plus, I only just cut back my plan a couple months ago and signed up for a new 18 month deal.

He claimed to be from Sky and this was their third try (I told them I was busy the last two times, so they were clearly stubborn!). They asked for the first line of my address and postcode, but then, shockingly, wanted my full password. I questioned this right away, and he got a bit hostile, boasting about parts of my Sky package he supposedly saw on his screen, then just hung up. I’d recently signed an 18 month deal, which made me even more suspicious. Never hand over your password. Hopefully this warning helps someone.

Some bloke called saying he was from Sky, tried to get me to pay less for my package. I told him I just started an 18 month deal at a low rate already, he said he knew already and still wanted to offer better. I just ended the call, total waste of time, sounds like a proper scam to me. Could find a better way to spend their time.

Someone claimed to be from Sky VIP and asked what changes I’d made to my account, then offered me a cheaper deal which I turned down. They said my Sky account got locked and I needed to reset my password, but the link they sent looked dodgy and wasn’t from Sky at all.

This call seems to originate from Sky, particularly after one has downgraded their subscription. It appears they're keen on luring you back into a more expensive plan, using persuasive tactics that can easily hook you before you realise it. When I pick up, I remain silent, and after about ten seconds, they hang up - it’s one of those automated systems that dial numbers randomly without any clue about who’s on the other end!

They've rung me up twice daily for a week now, saying they're from Sky and asking for my personal info. I knew it was dodgy right away. Got so fed up, I only picked up once and didn't give them a thing. Instead, I just blew a whistle down the phone - bet they couldn’t believe it! Haven't had a call since.
