Got a dodgy message claiming to be from "Lloyds" saying someone tried to make a payment from a new gadget. The text came from this number: +63 907 012 8165, which is based in the Philippines. Totally a scam, no doubt about it. I’ve reported it to 7726.

Got a dodgy text claiming to be from Lloyds, saying there was a new device transaction and if it wasn’t me I should ring a certain number. Total scam, don’t trust it!

If you get scam texts, send them to 7726 and keep an eye out in case they ask you to confirm. You can also use the spam reporting tool on your phone. Just search for 7726 online to find out more. Reporting these spam messages really does help cut them down, but from what I hear, it takes quite a few people reporting the same thing before they actually take action. Still, they do do something eventually. Meanwhile, though, folks who aren’t so careful might end up having their bank accounts cleared out.

As I said before about that new gadget from Lloyds, the message actually came from this number here: +63 968 676 3783

Just got a message mentioning my bank and saying someone tried to make a payment. It told me to call back if I wasn’t the one who did it. Sounds like another annoying scam to me...

Got a message from +63 951 236 6226 saying there were unauthorised charges on my HSBC account and asking me to ring 080 0802 1881. It’s obviously fake - that number isn’t HSBC’s at all, plus real texts from UK banks would show the bank’s name, not a foreign +63 number! Total scam.

Got a message saying there was a problem with my Natwest account, so I rang the number back. The caller talked about a transaction I didn’t recognise and asked me a few questions, but never about my account details. Then they just ended the call. Definitely not a Natwest contact. The message came from this number: +63 912 232 7314.
