Got a call this morning from a woman claiming to be with Sky, and she even used my first name which was a bit creepy since I have no idea where she got it from. She tried to tell me she could cut my bill down and started firing off questions. I didn't even let her get through them before asking her how exactly I was supposed to trust she was really from Sky and not some scammer. After that, she seemed to lose her grip on what she was saying and just rambled for a bit before hanging up on me. Well, that sorted that - dodged a bullet there!

Oh, I forgot to mention, the guy claimed to be Dave from Sky and was talking about my BT broadband. The moment I told him to ring back when my carer’s around, he lost interest straightaway. He didn’t even bother asking when my carer would be available and just hung up on me.

I got a call from this number saying they were from SKY offering a fibre upgrade for free. Wasn’t keen on doing it right then and there, so I told them I’d look into it on their website. The lady, calling herself Marie, said “you can’t get this deal online”. Still, I said no thanks. Later I looked up the number and spotted it’s actually a scam.

I got a call from 0800 802 1636 the other day. I've made it a habit to not pick up numbers I don’t know. I usually check the number online and then block it straight away. If it’s really important, they can leave a voicemail, which I just delete anyway. Probably another one of those broadband scams.

Got a call claiming to be from Sky about upgrading my broadband to full fibre with no extra cost. They even mentioned how long I’d been a customer there. I ended up confirming my name, address and postcode, but refused to give them my password or mum’s maiden name. Instead, I had to check my Sky account to tell them the amount of my last bill. When they tried to set up the upgrade, their system suddenly showed it would cost me £35 a month instead. I told them I wasn’t interested, they said sorry and hung up. I’ve since blocked that number on my phone.

So last week I got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Sky, said something about fibre optic coming to the neighbourhood. I told him I was a bit busy and didn't really wanna chat. Now he's ringing again, all friendly like. Honestly, the cheek of that conman! Pretending there's Sky fibre around when they're not gonna be phoning you about it. If you're interested, best you call Sky directly. This guy's clearly after your personal info. Next time my phone goes, I’m just gonna say, ‘Detective no-nonsense here, who’s this trying to scam me?’ and hang up!

I just got a call from these lot and found it odd that Sky were ringing me up. The guy was quite friendly, but kept calling me ‘love’ and ‘darling’, which felt pretty unprofessional nowadays and made me a bit suspicious. He did throw me off a bit, and even though I didn’t share any personal details, he said it was about setting up fibre broadband - which I already have. Then he claimed it was some sort of improved version but didn’t explain how. I told him I’m actually moving soon and didn’t want any hassle. Cheers to this site, I’m now going to block the number.

Someone rang me saying they were from Sky, calling to give a ‘courtesy reminder’ that Openreach planned to cut off my landline soon. They said I had to switch to fibre to keep my internet. I found it fishy because Sky normally sends letters for stuff like that, and I’d already had a dodgy Sky call the day before. I just hung up and I’m gonna block the number now.

Got a call from someone who knew my name, said they were with Sky about my broadband. I ended the call and checked the number on here. It’s blocked now, but I’m sure they’ll keep calling from different numbers since they know my number is active. These scammers really don’t stop, do they? Was a bit surprised when they rang, especially since they already had my first name. They insisted on doing some security checks, which I didn’t agree to until they told me the reason for the call. They mentioned I must switch to Fibre broadband by next year or else I’d lose my internet connection - can you believe that?! The man said it wouldn’t cost me anything extra and my account wouldn’t change, just a simple upgrade from the old copper line to fibre optic. I told him to give me a ring again on Friday when I'll be good to deal with it ;-)

Got a call asking for me (using my first name). When I asked who was on the line, the person claimed to be from Sky about a broadband deal. Two things made me suspicious: the loud background noise that sounded like a hectic call centre and the fact I was told ages ago that Sky doesn't do cold calls for promotions. So, I just hung up, blocked the number, and looked it up. After seeing the reviews, I wouldn’t trust them at all.

I got a call from this same number today, it’s the second time in a couple of days. They were claiming to be from Sky broadband or something. While I was on hold, I had a quick look at the number and realised it’s a scam. I told the person that straight away - they were surprisingly polite and tried to convince me they could verify everything, but I just said no, thanks.
