I said yes and asked who she was. She replied, "It's Sky. Would you like Sky in another room?" I said no and she said, "Alright," and hung up. Seems like she was just checking if they matched the right name to my mobile number.

On Wednesday 11th July in the arvo, my phone buzzed. I picked up but there was silence on the line. Then a message popped up saying I got a call at 16:32 from 08008021485, and to press 3 to return it. After hitting 3, an automated voice said it was SKY trying to reach me from one of their teams. Roughly an hour later, my phone rang again and a guy called about some packaging stuff, asking if everything was okay with mine.

Some bloke said he was calling from Sky. He mentioned how long I’d had my current deal and even knew my first name. But when I told him I was gonna check the number, he said “It might show up as a scam.” I asked why that would be and he went off on a bit of a ramble before saying, “Maybe best we just hang up.” All this happened after I wouldn’t answer his so-called “security questions.”

0800 802 1485 called me saying they were from Sky. I hung up and gave Sky Customer Services a ring myself, and they told me it wasn’t them. They told me to block the number. Funny enough, Sky then gave me a bit off my mobile deal, so the scammer kinda did me a solid 😄
