I’ve just had a rather unsettling phone call from someone claiming to represent Aviva, regarding an accident I supposedly had. I promptly questioned their authenticity as I’ve never been involved in such an incident, and their response was quite aggressive. They had the audacity to say that Barclays had passed on my information, which is utterly ridiculous since I don’t even bank with them. Honestly, folks, beware! This is definitely not a legitimate call from Aviva.

When he wanted my postcode, I told him W1A 1AA - you know, Buckingham Palace! He just cut me off. Proper cheeky, especially as I was just getting into it and trying to make the day less dull.

Got a call from someone claiming to be about accidents, started with "how are you?" I said fine and asked back how he was, but he just ignored it and jumped straight to asking if I had any accidents in the past three years. They purported to be representatives from Aviva Insurance, which I don’t even use, claiming to discuss compensation related to an accident I supposedly had “within the past three years.” However, when pressed for specifics, they wouldn't divulge any details until I confirmed my personal information. I was quite dubious about their intentions, but I managed to engage this chap in conversation for a full 12 minutes before he finally hung up - that’s a personal best for me! Fingers crossed I deterred them from reaching out to others who might not be as wary!
