How come companies like Virgin Media, who benefit from these annoying pop-ups, aren’t held accountable in court for basically letting scammers mess up people’s devices like this rubbish? It’s ridiculous they get away with it.

Just got a new laptop a few days back and this message showed up right away. Tried restarting it, which took forever - like 3 hours! It disappeared for a day, but now it’s back again. Honestly, I’m so fed up with having to keep shutting down and booting up, but it just won’t quit. I’m relieved I checked this site before ringing the number, even if it didn’t fix anything.

I gave the number a ring from my landline too, but ended the call after about a minute. Then, I decided to check it out here. Really glad I did, cheers Google!

So, a message appeared on my screen saying I had a virus and should call a number, similar to what others mentioned. Thankfully, I was a bit wary even though I’m not very tech-savvy. I ended up asking a mate to have a proper look at my computer for me.

I keep getting this thing popping up on my laptop and it just won't shut. There’s even some gross adult pics showing up on the screen, which I did not expect at all. None of my browsers will close either, really annoying. What’s worse, they guessed my location totally wrong and that made me suspicious straightaway, so I didn't ring them back. Can anyone tell me what I’m meant to do now? Not very pleased with this situation.

So a popup suddenly popped up telling me my laptop was in danger and that my private info could be easily taken unless I wiped my device or ringed a certain number. Naturally, I was a bit wary of such scary messages, so instead of panicking, I decided to Google the phone number first. That search brought me straight to this website. When I looked more carefully at the warning, it was obvious they’d completely messed up my location, which was pretty obvious that it was dodgy.

Every time I use my laptop, some annoying pop-up shows up warning me about Trojan horses. I was about to give the number a bell but thought I’d have a look here first. So glad I didn’t bother calling! I’m now putting together an email to Norton to complain and ask if they can sort this out.

This is just adware, nothing more. What really gets me is how Norton and McAfee won’t class it as a virus. They label it as “Makware” instead, and then they want you to pay to get rid of it. Feels like a rip-off from all sides!

Caution! I’ve received a virus alert claiming to be from Norton, but I’m starting to wonder whether it’s genuine. Has anyone else encountered something similar with Norton?

This keep popping up on my laptop like 4 times today and honestly the only way I can close it is by turning it off and restarting. It’s really annoying. Does anyone know a fix for this? Cheers.

I've had the same thing happen too. Can't seem to get rid of them. I foolishly called back and it just said goodbye then ended the call. I'm gonna get in touch with BT to make sure they haven't charged me, even though it's supposed to be an 0800 number.

I’ve got Norton antivirus and did a complete scan, which showed nothing wrong. Still, I keep getting a pop-up from a Norton-like window saying my computer is seriously infected with Adware.Dealply. It warns me not to try removing it on my own because it might be risky. Honestly, I’m not happy about this at all. The annoying thing is, I can’t seem to get rid of the pop-up, and there doesn’t appear to be a straightforward way to contact Norton about it. Kinda baffled that Norton’s own software isn’t detecting this problem!

Be careful, they are just tryna trick you into downloading some sort of trojan virus or something dodgy on your PC.

Today I got a couple of pop-ups on my laptop warning that it was in a “critical condition.” They said it was from Norton, but I know my laptop is fine. I called the number once but hung up when something felt off. Such a pain, I actually have to shut the whole laptop down just to stop it!

So this caller was telling me I got some sort of trojan virus and I need to pay up to get rid of it. Plus, there’s this annoying warning that just stays on my screen and won’t go away no matter what I do.
