Beware, this is an Argos scam. The number originally belonged to someone else, OFCOM traced it back, but it's likely been handed over to a different firm and then ended up in the scammers’ hands.

I looked it up and it's connected to a place called Green Acre School on Keresforth Hill Road in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The number was 0800 689 1284. Seems like it's tied to a company named Avalon Media Services Ltd.

Got a message from this number claiming to be 'Argos Card Services'. I looked up the official Argos card contact and it starts with 0345... so something felt off. Decided to check on here and sure enough, it’s a scam. Someone should really do something about these fraudsters!

Definitely not Argos, even though they say they're from Argos Cards... I don’t even have an account with them. Total SCAM. It’s a con, plain and simple. Don’t bother, it’s just a pointless hassle and a complete waste of time.

I got a text a bit ago and called the number straight away. A lady picked up and asked if I had an Argos account (which I don’t). She mentioned there were some glitches with their system and said she'd give me a ring back. Still no call from her, though.

Got a text from 'Argos Card Services' and tried calling the 0800 number they provided. It just went straight to a voicemail for some bloke named Jack. Definitely a total scam in my book.
