Even though they promised they wouldn’t call again (check my note from 10/08/20), I got another ring today from someone saying it was South West Repairs. I asked them directly and yep, they were pushing some boiler cover deal. Not shocked at all.

I hung up as soon as they said they’d transfer me to confirm my info. They kept ringing for ages and when I answered again, I told them I didn’t have any tv subscription and wanted to cancel. They then threatened to charge me £250 but I just said no chance, I’ll stop my direct debit. Surprisingly, they never asked for my bank details. I called my bank afterward and they warned me it’s a scam, plus they mentioned scammers can find your account info online. So yeah, just hang up if this number calls 08006890364.

A woman rang my 85-year-old mum saying she'd already spoken to me, which is totally not true. My mum had mentioned once that I'm her power of attorney, so they must have twisted that. They haven’t actually contacted me at all. These folks have called a couple of times now, trying to sell her a "better deal" for her TV. If you’ve got elderly family, be careful - even if you ask them not to answer, they still pick up the phone.

This firm is mailing out thank you notes, mostly aimed at older folks, for supposedly signing up to pay for their TV service via direct debit. The worrying bit is they apparently already have your bank info, which they must have got from somewhere else, not you. They want you to call if you have any doubts. But when you ring, it just buzzes for ages before diverting to an EE voicemail. I’ve tried calling several times and it’s always the same. Sounds to me like a dodgy scam to me.
