A while ago, like 3 pages back on March 31st, someone asked what to do if these scam calls come through. Seems like no one really did anything, or else the police would have already blocked the number to stop all the hassle for us.

This was clearly a scam about car accident insurance. I played along for a bit, pretending to be interested and asking what they could offer. I fed them a bunch of made-up details, then asked if they could help get the charges dropped. They asked what charges? I said I was in court for driving under the influence of Class A drugs, specifically crack cocaine. They cut the call straight away. Seems like they weren’t able to sort out those charges after all.

Got a call from 0800 674 6697 claiming to be from Aviva Insurance. I told them I’m not an Aviva customer, then the caller carried on. Surprisingly, it was a real person this time. They said, “It’s regarding a small accident you supposedly had in the last couple of days.” I called it rubbish straight away, told them I’m sick of these scam calls and they should be ashamed. They hung up right after. Number’s been blocked and reported now.
