I was approached by someone who claimed they wanted to give me a discount on my O2 bill for the following month. However, I informed them that I didn't have an O2 account, but they insisted that I did. They then switched gears and asked about my Virgin Media account, to which I replied that I didn't have one either. The conversation ended abruptly as the person simply said "thank you" and hung up.

Typical O2 scam call stemming from an Indian call centre. Managed to engage them in conversation for about 6 minutes, with the hope of preventing someone else from going through the annoyance. Pretending to represent o2, the caller promises an enticing 40% discount with no need for personal information or a sales pitch. However, they request a two-step verification process, which raises concerns about sharing personal details. They want you to start by providing your email address so they can send you a link via email. To test their legitimacy, I agreed to receive the email as they already had my email address. O2 keeps on trying to scam me again. Honestly, they really should sort this out by now. I don’t mind messing around with them though, it’s sorta entertaining lol.
3 years
Definitely a scam. They say they’re from O2 offering some kind of discount. They send you two texts and want you to share the pin from the second one, even though the first text says not to share your code with anyone. They’re taking advantage of how O2 does password resets. If you hand over that code, they can get into your O2 account and see all your personal info, including payment stuff. Best to just bin the messages and give the caller a good telling off.
3 years
BEWARE! TOTAL SCAM!
3 years
Indeed, it is undoubtedly a scam. The messages allegedly derive from O2, promising a discount. Interestingly, they send two texts and cunningly request your pin code in the second one, despite explicitly stating in the first message not to disclose the code to anyone. The scammers are capitalizing on O2's password recovery system for its users. By surrendering the code, they can gain access to your O2 account, enabling them to acquire sensitive information such as payment details. It is advisable to promptly delete the fraudulent messages and respond to the caller with an appropriate level of reprimand.

Had a call from this number but didn’t answer it. I don’t block it though, ’cause I’m into the sport. It’s kinda fun trying to see how much nonsense I can get away with and how long they’ll keep chatting away.

Got a call where they were acting like they were from O2, but it was definitely a scam.

Got a call earlier from someone who said they were from 02, telling me I had a contract with them. But I’m on pay as you go, so this has got to be a scam.

I thought this individual had an Indian accent, which made me suspect that they might be involved in some fraudulent activity. It seemed like they were pretending to represent O2.

The person keeps making phone calls and I am uncertain about their identity.

Had a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from O2. Told them straight up to get lost. Pretty clear it was a scam.

I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers. If it’s important or legit, they’ll leave a message anyway. That’s how I handle it, and it’s been working fine for me. Cheers!
