My mum got tricked by some scammer who told her to pay £639 to "repair" her computer. A creepy popup showed up on her laptop saying she had to call them right away because her PC security was supposedly at risk. The caller said they were from UK Instant Support Ltd. We've already reported this dodgy outfit to Action Fraud, so watch out for these dangerous scammers!

I wasnt feeling great when I answered, and the caller claimed that 8 different people, including someone from Boston, had accessed my computer. They said the problem could be fixed for £419 and wanted me to post a cheque straight away. Something about the whole thing felt dodgy. It was supposed to be some kind of instant support from ITd Tamworth or something.

I got a call from someone saying they were a Hewlett Packard tech after I looked up printer support online. They told me my PC had been hacked and only their experts could sort it out, charging me £350. I quickly figured it was a con and ended the call.

My wife was browsing a teachers' site and ended up clicking something that made a message pop up, saying the computer was locked until we called a certain number. They tried to get us to let them use some kind of call centre software to control the computer. It definitely wasn’t Apple, so we just ended the call right away.

Totally a scam, stay away! They’re just trying to take your cash. Don’t bother answering their calls.

I got this number poppin up with some error notice on my computer about explorer not loading right. I read a bit online and it turns out the error is just a scam, easy enough to get rid of. So, I rang them up just to find out what’s going on. The guy who picked up said he was ‘Peter from tech support’ but when I asked where he was working, he got all shifty and wouldn’t say.

Last night I got a call from this number on my Mac, and it turned out to be a total scam. I ended up ringing them back, and they demanded £139. Next thing I know, they had control of my computer. I'm really anxious now, thinking they might have accessed my bank info or something. Anyone got advice?

My Mac keeps showing this warning saying it’s got a virus and my bank account might be in danger. It keeps asking me to ring this number, 08006528775. Really suspicious if you ask me.

Earlier tonight, a message popped up on my screen from this number that I couldn’t get rid of. When I phoned them back, they wanted £89 to make it disappear. I wasn’t having any of it - sounds like a total scam. The bloke did say I could ring his direct line if I wanted to sort it out later... Not sure if I’ll bother though.

My iPhone suddenly showed a message that claimed I had a virus and urged me to ring a certain number straight away. When I called, they said fixing it would be £79. I checked with Apple who had no idea about these people. Luckily, they sorted out the pop-up in just a couple of minutes.

I tried complaining to the so-called Aspire Support Online Technical from this number, but every time I spoke to someone, they just hung up, even the supervisor! It's definitely not connected with Apple at all, total scam.

Watch out for Mac booo, total scam! This number calls pretending your computer has a virus and then pressures you into buying really pricey antivirus software. They basically take control of your PC and try to charge you £299. Don’t fall for it!

Just got hit with one of those dodgy Mac warnings saying my computer’s got a virus and if I switch it off, all my stuff will vanish. The message told me to ring 0800 802 1063 right away. Looks like another scam to me.
