11 yearsI've encountered a similar situation myself. I rang a number and an Indian lady picked up straight away, which raised my eyebrows right from the get-go. She then bombarded me with a plethora of questions. I cut her off and inquired about the fix, to which she replied that it would set me back £49.99 and she required the serial number. I told her I'd get back to her. After that, I hopped on another device and quickly found the solution myself. Definitely a dodgy operation!11 yearsA complete fraud! They've requested I cough up £50.11 yearsI encountered a pesky pop-up claiming my phone was infected with a virus, and it completely hijacked my ability to use Safari. In a moment of panic, I called the number provided, only to be greeted by an Indian woman on the other end, who requested my serial number. At that point, I decided to hang up. I proceeded to erase my browsing data and history on Safari, and voilà! The annoying pop-up disappeared.11 yearsI'm facing a similar issue myself, and I'm struggling to get rid of it. Any ideas or recommendations would be really appreciated!11 yearsWhat a con! If you pop this number into Google, you’ll find that Apple has all the solutions you need. There's really no reason to dial the 0800 number they've provided.GoogleApple11 yearsI avoided dialling the number altogether, switched my phone off, and wiped my Safari browsing history - and it did the trick!11 yearsI received a rather alarming pop-up notification on my iPhone, claiming there was a virus lurking in my iOS. It prompted me to call a number, so I thought, why not? The phone was answered within a heartbeat by a lady with a heavy Indian accent, but to be honest, I struggled to catch what she was saying. She then asked me for my iPhone’s serial number - foolishly, I provided that information as well. After that, she had the audacity to request £59.99 to resolve the supposed issue. At that point, I realised I’d been had! There’s no way Apple would ever charge that much to resolve software issues. I was fuming and promptly disconnected the call. Honestly, these scammers need to be held accountable for their deceitful antics!Apple11 yearsI just had a similar experience. When I mentioned that I didn’t have any funds to cover the fee for removing a supposed virus, they swiftly reduced the charge from £50 to just £25. The guy got rather irate when I told him I couldn’t afford to pay at all. I’m absolutely stunned this is associated with Apple!Apple11 yearsI can totally relate to what you’ve said! It’s as if we’ve walked the same path!11 yearsReceived a rather alarming text on my iPhone, warning me that it might be compromised with spyware and urging me to ring up iOS tech support at this particular number. Naturally, I gave it a go, but when someone picked up, it was a chap with a pronounced Indian accent and the line felt far from official. I promptly disconnected the call, only to be met with an immediate callback. Considering it was roughly 8 in the morning on a Sunday, my suspicions were definitely piqued, so I decided to let that one ring out.Submit Your Own Report (0800 652 6751)
