Got a call claiming to be from Santander asking me to press any key to proceed. Total scam, obviously. Santander would never do that - if they need to get hold of you, they just send a text telling you to check your online banking.

Got a call from 106406126 saying they were Santander and gave me a 3 digit code. My phone flagged it as maybe scam, so I just let it ring out.

On New Year’s Day, my mother-in-law got a message left on her answerphone. I’m pretty sure it’s one of those scams since no bank is open on a holiday like that. It really annoys me how these callers target older people. It’s left her feeling quite shaken up, which is really upsetting to see.

Got a call earlier today saying money was missing from my bank, but when I checked my online banking, everything was fine. The call came from an 0800 number.

Got a message claiming to be from Santander, asking if I’d made a certain payment. I replied ‘N’ to say no, just like they asked. Then a couple more texts came through - one said I’d get a message from 447537431324, and the next said Santander would ring me from some 0800 number. I didn’t pick up but rang Santander using the phone number on my card instead. They told me there were no payments like that. So yeah, it’s definitely a scam.

I spoke with Santander for around 15 minutes and passed them the number. They said they don't use that number and there was nothing on my account about them trying to contact me. The first two calls I got were automated and just read out some three-digit number. Then on the third and fourth calls, it asked me to press 1 to confirm my name. I’d be cautious with these calls.

I then tried calling Santander back using their official number from their website, but the wait was ages so I just gave up.
