Received a call that appeared to be from Santander, prompting me to hit a button to proceed. It's blatantly a scam. If Santander genuinely needs to reach you, they'll drop you a text guiding you to sign in to your online account.

My mother-in-law found a message waiting for her on her answering machine this New Year’s Day. I can only assume it’s a scam, given that no banks are operational on a holiday. It’s really infuriating how these individuals target vulnerable older folks. This whole situation has quite unsettled her.

Received a call today from an 0800 number, asserting that funds were missing from my account. However, after checking my online banking, I realised their claim was utterly false. Quite frustrating, really!

I got a rather dodgy message that looked like it was from Santander, asking me to confirm if I’d made a transaction. Following the instructions, I texted back 'N' for no. Shortly after, I got a couple more messages. The first mentioned I'd get a text from 447537431324, and then another claiming Santander would ring me from an 0800 number. I chose to ignore that call and reached out to Santander directly using the number on my card. They confirmed there were no transactions made at all. Turns out, those texts were nothing but a scam!

I spoke with Santander for around 15 minutes and passed them the number. They said they don't use that number and there was nothing on my account about them trying to contact me. The first two calls I got were automated and just read out some three-digit number. Then on the third and fourth calls, it asked me to press 1 to confirm my name. I’d be cautious with these calls.

This evening, I received a couple of calls from this number, purporting to be from Santander. They were familiar with my name and requested a response, providing me with a code, which I regrettably failed to note down. I attempted to contact Santander using the number listed on their official site, but after being on hold for what felt like ages, I decided to hang up.
