Had another phone call earlier about some drainage cover. When I questioned them, they got quite rude. It’s a bit unsettling how much they seem to know about us. I’m planning to report them to the Citizens Advice Bureau after speaking with Trading Standards. Apparently, there are loads of firms pushing this drainage cover. They even sent us some documents and tried to start a direct debit, but my partner managed to stop it before anything went through.

These annoying calls just won’t stop even after I told them to bugger off. Now, when that number pops up on my screen, I pick up, let them start talking and then I hold the phone by my smoke alarm and set it off. Proper laugh that is! They always hang up quick after that. Hmmm, can’t think why...

Got a call earlier from someone wanting to speak to Mrs something, said it was about a drainage issue I'd reported and that they were arranging for a visit. There was loads of noise in the background so I asked them to say that again, but then they just hung up on me. Rang the number back but it went straight to voicemail. Seems like a total scam to me. I rent from a housing association, so there's no way I'd be forking out on drain repairs myself. Watch out!

I mentioned to my husband that I’d removed the drain cover and that it was due for replacement. When the caller said we didn’t have a drain cover and insisted he was sure I’d removed it, my husband got pretty annoyed. He told the caller to call again when I was home to chat, but also warned them it wouldn’t do them any good. Definitely a scam.

This morning, I received a call from 07562643468, claiming that my Amazon Prime account had been compromised. The thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon Prime account! When I pointed out to the gentleman on the line-who had an Asian accent-that it was a ruse, he simply disconnected the call. I’m absolutely fed up with these persistent scams. It’s particularly troubling to think that an elderly person, who might be more susceptible, could easily fall victim to such deceit. It’s quite alarming!

Got a call on my Nan’s phone from someone claiming they’d cut the price on the third year of her drainage insurance. Then he started going on about me sounding like a "naughty slag" and said my voice was "very sexy" or something like that. I didn’t hang about and just cut the call straight away. When we said we weren’t interested in the cheaper option, he said he’d go ahead and process it at the more expensive rate. We never agreed to or asked for any insurance policy like that. Somebody rang me saying they were from a homecare insurance company, telling me my boiler cover cost was dropping from £249 to £199 this year. What’s bizarre is I already have boiler cover with Homeserve, and it’s coming up for renewal soon. The minute I mentioned I didn’t recall paying £249 last year, the person just cut the call straight away. They actually knew my name and address. Not sure what their aim was, but it definitely gave me a dodgy vibe.

Just like the person before me, I got one of those calls recently. I said I live in a council flat and they just cut me off! I’ve got call blocking on so I shouldn’t be getting these at all, but every now and then one sneaks through. It’s so frustrating ‘cos the phone still rings anyway!

I got a call from 0800 634 9604 and the woman said she was from njc regarding my drainage insurance. When I mentioned I already have a deal with a different firm, she just hung up on me. I'm signed up with the telephone preference service, so I shouldn't be getting these sorts of calls at all. They try to convince you that you’re already one of their customers and offer to lower your monthly payments.
