I got a call at my job where someone wanted to speak to my manager. I told them she wasn’t around today and asked if they wanted to leave a message, but they just ended the call right away.

I’ve just had a rather posh chap on the line claiming to be from the European Consumer Claims Office. Strangely enough, he knew my name and suggested that I’d been a victim of mis-sold timeshare. He even threw in my postcode for good measure, which made me quite curious about how he obtained that information. When I pressed him on it, he casually mentioned it was from his computer. I then asked him for the contact number of his supposed office and pointed out that it’s typically the consumer who initiates such claims, not vice versa. At that point, he started calling me ‘dear’ in an attempt to sound reassuring, and that’s when I realised he was dodgy. He promised he would remove me from his records to avoid any further 'inconvenience'-that was the end of our conversation.

Got a rather unwelcome call earlier today regarding some timeshare deal-it had all the hallmarks of a spammy operation.

Got a call from “European Timeshare Centre,” left a voicemail by a woman saying they knew I was having trouble with my timeshare. Thing is, I’ve got no timeshare or problems like that, so I’m guessing it's just one of those usual timeshare scams. Blocked the number straight away.

I've heard that recent changes in Spanish law now allow folks to seek compensation for mis-sold timeshares. Has anyone had any experiences with this lot? I'm curious to know!
