The individual claimed to represent RECC and was soliciting credit card information under the guise of issuing a refund for a 2014 RECC membership fee that, they alleged, had been charged erroneously on two occasions. Notably, the caller’s phone number was withheld, raising further suspicion. It seems the caller may have exploited publicly accessible information found in the Member Search section of the RECC website, which includes the business name and phone number. If you happen to receive a similar call, I strongly advise against sharing any credit card details whatsoever. Instead, please get in touch with me right away so that we can relay the pertinent information to the authorities.
