Cheers for the info, I can now be sure it’s Domestic & General. I ended up cancelling a direct debit because the cost went up from what was first agreed. Makes me feel they aren’t very trustworthy, so I’ll be looking for a different provider. Like others have said, they are really stubborn, calling a few times then repeating over and over. This leaves me no choice but to block them. It’s awful that companies act like this and seem to think it’s fine to push people until they just ignore or block their number and any that look similar afterwards.

This number is definitely linked to fraudsters. D&G told me they don’t do pushy sales calls. If you pick up and get a call from them, just tell them you’re aware it’s a scam and hang up straight away.

0800 597 8627 Domestic & General They offer cover for when kitchen appliances break down. They ring up to check if you want cover for breakdowns on a new gadget like a washing machine. Sometimes shops tell them about your purchase, or they might get in touch if you’ve missed a payment. Or maybe you’ve sold your appliance and no longer need the cover, so it’s best to cancel. Domestic & General is alright if you’ve had bad luck and your machine keeps breaking down, but over time, the money you pay can add up - enough to buy a cheap new one or even half the price of a decent one.

I've recently terminated my insurance policy with D&G since I've ditched my old appliance during a kitchen renovation and opted for a snazzy new integrated washing machine. I haven't picked up any of their calls yet, but after snooping around on this site, it's clear why my phone has been buzzing - I've received a couple of calls today already!

Domgen, I had a similar experience with them around a second complaint I made. They kept telling me for months that my name had been changed following my divorce, but it turns out they never did. Even after complaining before, they still kept sending letters and calling asking for me by the old name. It’s bad enough they constantly ring trying to sell more stuff, but even worse that they can’t seem to get a simple name change right. I've now cancelled my contract and blocked their number.

Domestic and General ring me pretty much daily. Ive already spoke with them, cancelled my policy both with them and my bank, yet they don’t stop calling. It’s getting really annoying.

It's Domestic and General reaching out. They're trying to peddle insurance for household appliances. I've just cancelled my policy for my dreadful washing machine - planning to swap it out as soon as my budget allows. Honestly, it feels a bit futile to pay for breakdown cover when I'm not even keeping the machine much longer. Plus, getting an engineer in for repairs is a right faff!

This is Domestic & General calling. You might have stopped a Direct Debit, bought an item that includes their cover, or got something from AO and they’re trying to get you registered. Either way, always watch what info you share on any unexpected calls. They never leave a voicemail, probably due to company rules or GDPR stuff.

This number has been ringing me loads, so I blocked it on my mobile. Then they called my home phone, claiming to be from domestic and general. I phoned D&M and they said they never tried contacting me. The caller even mentioned my name didn't match their records so they couldn’t discuss anything. Watch out and don’t share any private info!

A nicely spoken chap named Paul rang up, saying he was from Domestic and General. He used my surname but then asked me to confirm my full name for some kind of 'security check'. I wasn’t having it and told him if I’m actually a customer, they should already know my details. He then started on about Data Protection and why he couldn’t tell me what name they had on file! I don’t think it was definitely a scam, but I didn’t feel comfortable either - I told him to take my number off their list before I ended the call.

I chose not to pick up and went ahead to block the number on 20-02-2023, though we did just end our Domestic and General appliance cover, so maybe it’s related to that. Yet, it might also be a scam, who knows.
