Got a call from 0800 587 0463 claiming to be from PayPal. They said they wanted to speak to Rosie Kingdom, who apparently is on the PayPal account. Problem is, I have no idea who that is.

Yeah, it was really PayPal. I spoke to their security team and they knew my account details and recent payments. They never asked me to send money directly over the phone, instead they told me to log into my PayPal and top up since my balance was showing negative.

Im pretty sure it was really PayPal, they asked for my email so I gave it to them, said my balance was negative which is true cos I got hacked, they told me to wait then the call just cut off. I already contacted the resolution centre a couple days back to sort this out, no way am I paying, the hacker did an unauthorised transaction.

It was PayPal’s debt recovery team ringing me about a negative balance on my account. When I didn’t pick up, they left a voicemail with a number to get in touch. I phoned back and sorted it out. I’m certain it’s legit PayPal because they mentioned details only they would have, even friends wouldn’t know that. For anyone saying the number keeps harassing them, chances are you need to clear an outstanding balance with PayPal.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don't know, thinking if it’s really urgent, they’ll leave a message. Got a voicemail supposedly from PayPal asking me to ring back on 08000857595, but I couldn’t find that number listed anywhere as a legit PayPal contact. When I looked it up, it turns out loads of scammers seem to use that same number.

I got in touch with PayPal to sort out a debit on my account and was provided this number right before they put me through. Turns out, it’s the PayPal collections department. They already had all my info from my real PayPal account, and I managed to pay off the balance without any hassle and got my service back.

Got two calls in less than 30 mins. I called back and it really did sound like PayPal since I’m aware I owe them money. But when some bloke picked up, the line was so muffled I could barely catch what he said. He asked me to confirm my email, and I told him he should already have it since they rang me. He just goes, “Well, we’ve got thousands of customers, haven’t we?” Not very professional or reassuring at all. I’d honestly be careful and just reach out to PayPal directly through their official website!

Got a voicemail from 0800 587 0463, sounded dodgy. The message just had someone saying the number 0800 085 7595. So I called that number and it was obviously a fake PayPal scam. Watch out for this one!

Some dodgy caller said they were from PayPal. The number flagged as spam but I picked up anyway. They asked for my email for a “security check” or something. No way was I giving that out.
