We’re getting calls from this number on a daily basis, often more than once, from the same woman (we’ve come to recognise her voice quite well) asking for someone named “Paul.” Every time we explain there’s no one by that name here, but it seems that doesn’t deter her. I’ve had quite a few calls from this number, and despite our growing annoyance with their persistence, they kept ringing us. So, we decided to give them a bell. We ended up chatting to a really helpful chap over in India, who asked how we figured out it was Capital One calling. We simply told him we returned the call! He was quite apologetic about the whole situation and guaranteed us that our number had been removed from their database. It’s a business line, so we suspect they were likely after the previous owner.
