11 yearsReceived another call from this outfit and, as before, as soon as I picked up, the line went silent - so vexing! I decided to ring them back and was connected to a woman on the line. When I asked for the contact details of their head office, she flatly refused to provide them. I expressed my desire to lodge a complaint in writing to their headquarters, but she wouldn’t budge, instead transferring me to her supervisor. The chap who came on afterwards was no better, as he too wouldn’t divulge any information about how I could formally express my dissatisfaction. He did mention that if I shared my number with him, he could check if he could take it off their list. Mind you, they’d already called me, so they obviously had my number in their system! I pointed out that simply getting my number removed wouldn’t address the larger issue at hand; I wished to file a complaint with Ofcom about their practices. They said I was free to do that, yet, again, they wouldn’t provide any information apart from naming the company UK ELECTRICITY BOARD. Both the lady and her supervisor had noticeable Indian accents, leading me to suspect it was an Indian call centre.
