From what others have said, I really hope EDF cuts this out because it can be quite distressing, especially for older or vulnerable folks. Yesterday I told EDF I didn't want to take part in their survey when they called. It's not like spam or harassment, just a bit irritating. I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers or those not saved in my phone, so I didn’t pick up. They’ve also rung my landline a few times today, but I never answer landline calls just to be safe from scams. I’m curious how many calls they’ll keep making!

If you'd chosen to skip the callback survey like they mention right at the start of the original phone call, you wouldn't be getting a follow-up from EDF asking you to answer a short survey with only three questions. I don't think this counts as harassment since they wouldn't have rung you again if you'd told them no while you were talking to one of their reps.

Got a contract from EDF today about switching my supplier but I never arranged anything. I rang them straight away to cancel coz I didn’t authorise it. This number just rang me, but luckily my call blocker stopped it. From what I’ve read in other comments, it looks like it’s from my energy supplier. I thought cold calling was banned! I’m quite irritated if they’re trying to push me into getting a smart meter, as I’m really not keen. I already have a pretty good smart meter that my readings are taken from each week, simple as that. They really need to stop bothering folks about switching to a smart meter.

0800 524 4432 rang me this morning, was EDF Smart Meters about estimated bills from several months in 2018, even tho a Smart Meter was put in back Nov 2017. They said it was due to signal problems or something like that. Since then, I’ve had two calls with no messages left. I’ve blocked the number now.

On Thursday, 13th July 2016, I noticed a missed call from this number, which displayed EDF as the caller. Curious to ascertain the legitimacy of the call, I rang EDF back. They explained it was part of a campaign to gauge interest in SMART Meters. To my surprise, I was informed that the service wasn't available in my location, and frankly, I have no desire to pursue it anyway. I reconfirmed this when I reached out to EDF again on Monday, 18th July 2016, to discuss my meter reading. As such, EDF should only be contacting me regarding billing matters, not for these promotional calls.
