Just like a lot of people here, I had a notification pop up saying it was Microsoft calling about some kind of problem and to call this number. I phoned it, and they asked me to install TeamViewer so they could access my PC. Felt off straight away, so I told them I'd call back later. Did a quick search of the number afterwards and turns out it’s totally dodgy and not connected to Microsoft at all.

I got the same thing happen to me and honestly, it’s really freaked me out.

I just got scammed big time. They claim to be from Microsoft and even call you back before taking control of your PC - honestly, it felt like having your home broken into! It was such a horrible and stressful experience. Worst part is, if you don’t pay up, they mess up your computer so badly it won’t work anymore. It’s a real shame how these things happen nowadays. If you get a pop-up saying your computer’s hacked, don’t call the number they give you, just ignore it. Contacting these crooks just means your PC’s knackered for good. Plus, then you’ve got the hassle of checking your bank and all that stress too! Why can’t we have some way to catch these scammers, like how speeding cameras catch offenders? It’d be nice to see these parasites getting stopped for good.

A couple claiming to be Microsoft Security Engineers suddenly showed an Internet Explorer window on my PC that I couldn’t shut down. They told me my system was infected with a Trojan and a virus called koobface, and that my bank info was at risk. They insisted on remotely accessing my computer, pushing me to install TeamViewer. I naively let them in, and they made me log into my account, supposedly to check for hackers. After all that, they demanded £300 from me. When I said no, they got angry. Scary thing is, they already had loads of my personal info, like phone numbers and email addresses. Luckily, I never gave them my bank details. They were definitely scammers.

Got this weird pop-up saying "Your Windows is hacked" while I was surfing online. It showed a phone number on the alert - 08005200514. Feels dodgy to me, not sure if this is even legit. Definitely looks like a scam.

I got a suspicious call through an audio message warning that my computer had been compromised. They left me this number to call back. When I rang up, it quickly became clear they were trying to scam me, especially when they started insisting I install some software to "sort out" the issue. Definitely a dodgy situation.

I went through something similar. At first, they just said they were there to assist, but then after getting my details, they asked for £420. I ended up downloading TeamViewer, and they browsed through all my personal info. How come they're still operating even though so many people have complained? It's ridiculous!

What on earth are they still up to? They've wrecked my computer, and I ended up losing all my vital files because of their antics.

So, I ended up installing TeamViewer as they requested, and before I knew it, they were rummaging through my bank details and personal stuff. It was quite a harrowing experience, and I’ve since wiped all of my information to safeguard myself from any further intrusion.

This really shook me up and even messed up my pc. I ended up paying to get it fixed. They made me install Team Viewer, then went through all my files and insisted I log into my account to ‘check for hackers’. I was daft enough to go along with it. After that, they demanded £430. When I said no, they threatened to send a letter saying I owed £2000 and that they’d blacklist me. I told them to do whatever they wanted because I hadn’t done anything wrong. Still, they had all my details, which freaked me out. I wiped my info but honestly, I’m still worried. They were proper scammers.

Some people claiming to be Microsoft Security Engineers appeared on my screen with an Internet Explorer window that I couldn’t close. They said my PC was infected with malware and that my bank info was at risk. They asked for 300 quid to "fix" it. I refused. After that, the guy kept ringing me loads, warning that I wouldn’t be able to get online again without their help because Microsoft supposedly blocked it until fixed. I just powered off the computer and everything’s fine now. Any ideas on how to avoid this happening again?
