He was scruffy as anything-unshaven, missing a few teeth, and looked like he hadn’t seen a bath in ages. He had the audacity to inquire if he could have a go at my already well-kept hedge. Naturally, I turned him down flat. Then, he rather brazenly attempted to pressure me into parting with my cherished works van parked right on the driveway! I cannot stand these con artists. Just a heads-up for everyone: genuine tradespeople don't have the time or inclination to bang on doors for jobs. They're far too busy grafting for an honest wage.3 yearsA couple of chaps showed up at my elderly mother-in-law's house, who's 93, and spent a good two hours snipping away at her hedge, which was roughly twelve feet long. They mentioned something about a quote, but she’s unable to remember a single word of it. To our utter shock, they charged her a staggering £700 and didn’t provide any sort of receipt for the service performed.
