Someone told me to ring this number and say "Better Deal", saying I'd get an improved broadband offer with BT. I gave it a go because I thought it might actually save me some money on my internet.

Somebody rang me claiming to be from a company (didn’t say which one) and told me they were sorting stuff out about renewing a contract I apparently had with BT. When I asked how I could be sure they really worked for BT, they just passed me this number to their "customer operations team". Bit suspicious if you ask me.
