08003686176 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 08003686176 👆 is reported as a persistent source of scam calls impersonating major UK telecom providers like O2, EE, Three, and Virgin Media. Callers often claim to offer discounts, new contracts, or handset deals, demanding sensitive personal, banking, or security verification codes. Many users note the use of automated messages, poor call quality, and strong South Asian accents. The scammers frequently text official-looking messages to reinforce their deception and pressure recipients into revealing security codes linked to account access, potentially resulting in identity theft or financial loss. Recipients are advised to avoid engagement, never share personal or banking details, and report attempts to official fraud authorities. Blocking the number proves ineffective as criminals switch numbers frequently. Vigilance and direct contact with legitimate providers are crucial.

I got a call from some number I didn’t recognise, sounded a bit strange like a sales call but they kept going on about sushi chefs or something? It was all a bit muddled, with loads of random words like anchovies and eggs thrown in, I couldn’t really make sense of it. They mentioned something about a bucket? Honestly, it was confusing. Felt like they were just trying to sell me something, but then again, maybe I just didn’t catch it right. Wish there was a proper way to block these weird calls.

I got a call from them saying I'd won some kind of voucher. At first, they asked what kind of phone I had, then they started going on about needing my bank details. Suspicious right?

So, after getting a call from this number I didn't know, I decided to check out the comments people left here. Turns out, it’s a bit of a nuisance. The same number called me again and again, about five times back-to-back in just a few minutes. I ignored every single call and then just blocked it to stop the hassle.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, trying to trick me. They sent some kind of verification texts but wouldn't let me do any of my own checks before I shared details. In the end, they just hung up on me.

Got two calls from this number, 08003686176, they said they were from o2 but had a thick Indian accent and I wasn’t buying it. Told them flat out I wasn’t falling for their scam and if I wanted to sort my bill I’d ring o2 directly. What a waste of time, total losers.

Got a call from someone pretending to be my service provider, said they’d give me a discount. Then they asked for a security code that pops up when you try to log in. Definitely a scam.

Had a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying I’m a 'valued customer' and could get a 20% discount on my contract. They sent me a code from O2 via text and wanted me to read it out, even though they claimed to already have all my details. I refused to share the code and made it clear I’d only speak to genuine O2 if I rang them directly. They sounded a bit let down but didn’t try to push it any more. Watch out, don’t give them that code!

I've been receiving messages that claim to be from O2, stating that I'm entitled to some sort of discount on my bill. They've been texting me from an O2 U.K. number and asking me to provide one-off security codes. To be honest, I have my doubts about their legitimacy. I don't trust it one bit; it seems like a classic scam to me.

I received a call claiming to be from O2, telling me I’d won a refund for my phone contract. Shortly after, I got a text that looked like it was from them as well. Decided to ring O2 directly to verify, and they assured me it was a total scam. Beware, folks!

I got a call from O2 saying I was a loyal customer and could get 20% off, plus a new phone deal. They said they could send texts through O2’s messaging service, but then asked for my passcode and changed my O2 account password. They already knew some of my details, so it seemed pretty genuine.

Had a call claiming to be from O2, and I’ve encountered this before. They launch into a spiel about how, as a valued customer, I'm eligible for some exclusive discount or other, and then proceed to ask for personal details. Don’t fall for it! It's best to keep your information close to your chest and reach out to O2 directly if you have any queries. Unfortunately, they seem powerless to halt these calls, so one would have to consider changing their number entirely to shake off these nuisances.

Got a call from what they said was 02 customer service, but I reckon it was just some Indian scammer. When I told them I’m not their customer, the lady on the phone was surprisingly polite and then just hung up quietly. Honestly, that kind of courtesy on a scam call caught me off guard!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from O2, offering me some amazing deal - unlimited texts and calls plus 96gb data for just £8 a month. While I was chatting to him, I got texts from another number warning me it was a scam and to report the call. Not really sure if that warning was legit since I’m not an O2 customer anymore, but used to be. Honestly, I reckon it was a dodgy call. Never hand over your bank info to these sorts!

So, 02 has been ringing me on three different numbers. When I mentioned I'd report them to Ofcom, they just had a laugh. I told him, "sounds like you're a scammer then," and he actually admitted it. Asked him why, and he just said it’s easy money. Ridiculous.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian, said they were ringing from Vodafone. The call was really fuzzy and the person talked super quick. They were pushing some deal like £25 per month for 24 months on an iPhone 13, with next day delivery! I gave them a bogus email to mess with them. Definitely a scam, be careful if you get this kind of call!

I got a call from a man who said he was phoning from EE about some new phones. His accent was hard to make out, sounded Indian or something. Honestly, the government or whoever’s in charge should really step up and do something about these kinds of calls. They’re just a massive nuisance, and they cause a lot of stress and expense, especially when folks get tricked by what I reckon was a scammer in this case.

Definitely sounded like a call centre. The person on the other end had a thick south Asian accent but I could barely hear them properly, like their headset was acting up or something. I caught bits about selling something, though I had no clue what it was about. Not interested anyway, so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

I picked up the phone and there was a noticeable lag before the chap on the other end started speaking. He introduced himself as Alex, or was it “LX,” from E-network? When I pressed him for clarification on which company he represented, he abruptly cut the line. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Three network in the UK, but they were clearly scammers from India. Took them a bit of time but they soon admitted they weren’t legit. They were trying to fool me with a fake offer for an iPhone 13 Pro Max at 40% off. If you’re bored, just mess around and pretend to be interested, even use a fake card generator to waste their time!

The chap on the phone had a dreadful connection, kept mumbling something about being from “Three Sales”, but I was convinced he was touting for “tree sales”. I quizzed him on which branch he represented, and then, lo and behold, the line dropped. I reckon he twigged I was having a jolly good laugh and thought it best to skedaddle. My apologies for the pun!
