My dad told me to look into this number after my mum passed away, so I gave it a ring. At first, it seemed like it was linked to a credit card or something, but now I’ve realised it’s actually a scam.

Got a message that seemed fishy:

"just a heads up, your minimum payment of £38.56 for your Aqua card hasn’t gone through. Pay here https://portal.newdaycards.com/aqua/payments-and-transfers/make-a-payment or ring us on 08003680700 if you want to talk."

Thing is, the figure didn’t match what Aqua told me, and I’d already paid that exact amount. Plus, the phone number didn’t look right for Aqua at all.

Definitely looked like a scam to me.

Got a text from this number, some person pretending to be from Aqua credit card. I’m quite familiar with their official numbers and this one wasn’t listed anywhere on their site. I called back just to check and a lady picked up, she said her name and mentioned Aqua credit card. It felt a bit off, so I ended the call since Aqua usually has a recorded message system. No idea how she ended up with my info.

This turned out to be Aqua. We’ve restricted their other numbers, but this one managed to sneak through to my voicemail using something called "Voice Text." Not quite sure what that entails!

Absolutely a con. Got a txt about my Marbles card earlier today. The worst part? Marbles doesn’t even have a proper way to report these things. Spent like 10 minutes trying to sort it out on the phone, but no luck. They just wanted my credit card info, obviously a dodgy call.

They ring me all the time, no matter what time or day it is. I keep getting calls and messages with a name that isn’t even mine! Usually, i just don’t pick up or block them because i’m scared it might cost me just to get the call. When i do answer, there’s just silence on the other end. They say they’re from some credit card company, but I’ve never had a credit card before, nor do i want one!

I got a message from an unknown number, but it did say my name right, telling me to ring 08003680700 before 8pm that evening about my Aqua credit card. Since I do have one, I nearly believed it. The text said I could either call or reply by text to sort it out. I decided to text back cause I was a bit wary and wanted to see if they'd ask for my details. But the message wouldn’t go through, so I gave up and looked the number up online. Absolute scoundrels!

I got a text from this number that looked legit, so I decided to call back. A person from a company called Aqua answered, but they said they have nothing to do with Marbles. Oddly, they asked me for my credit card info straight away, which I refused to share, no way was I giving any details. After telling them off for possibly breaking data protection rules, I managed to get their company registration number: 7297722.
