They sent me envelopes that looked exactly like the ones from my bank and even mentioned the last few numbers of one of my accounts. The letter told me to call that number and said if I didn't reply within 13 days, they'd be "asking me to make other banking arrangements." There were quite a few errors and it wasn’t on official headed paper. I wasn’t fooled but just wanted to find out who they really were.

Someone called pretending to be from Virgin Money's fraud team. When I said I was reporting them, they just ended the call. Watch out, these scammers are everywhere!

Got a text from this number saying it was Clydesdale Bank (now Virgin) warning that my credit card was used fraudulently and that they needed to freeze my cards. Afterwards, they rang from 0141 951 7300, which is nearly identical to the genuine Clydesdale number 0141 951 7320, so I thought it was legit at first. This was a well-planned scam - they even had some personal info like phone numbers and card details, making it sound very believable. Really watch out for this one.

Yep, this is the genuine free phone number for Clydesdale Bank’s telephone banking, 0800 345 7365. Keep in mind, Clydesdale Bank has changed to Virgin Money, though the phone number is still the same. I ring it regularly to check how much I’ve got in my account, pay my bills, or move money to mates. If you’re getting calls from this number, it’s probably not from them unless you asked them to ring you back, although I’m not certain they even do that anymore.

On 6/4/21, got a call from this number pretending to be fraud department. Total scam! They wanted me to approve two payments so they could then cancel them. I said no and told my bank straight away. Be careful and dont share any details with this number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from ‘Yorkshire Bank’. The bloke couldn’t say my street name properly or even mine. He seemed to know a few bits about my account but not everything. Said there was a big payment about to come out of my account and asked if it was me. Told me I needed to close both my account and debit card. When I didn’t give him all my info, he went silent. I told him I was recording, then he just hung up. I rang my bank straight after and cancelled my card.

I was rather baffled this morning when a parcel arrived, containing what appeared to be a tiny calculator along with a letter. The correspondence purportedly came from Yorkshire Bank, which is odd since I don’t have an account with them! The letter began with a generic “dear customer,” lacking any personal touch. The address on the package was only partly accurate, and again, no name was provided. It mentioned something about an internet banking security token and instructed me to log in to activate it. Curiously, the phone number listed was the same as one found on a Google search for Yorkshire Bank, yet there was a different number at the top of the letter. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Clearly, this is a scam!

He claimed to be calling from Clydesdale bank and has been ringing me on and off the last few days, including twice today (which is Sunday). When I picked up, I couldn't give any of the security info he asked for, so he requested the full 16 digits on my debit card. Banks don't normally ask for the entire card number over the phone, so I just ended the call. He tried calling back again afterwards, but I didn't pick up.

Scam alert. Just hang up straight away. They claim to be from the bank and ask for lots of info but dont give them anything at all. Then call your bank back using the number on the card or from their official site. When I phoned mine, they said they never made the call. I also reported it to the police.

Watch out if this number rings you. It looks like it's from Yorkshire / Clydesdale Bank but they ask loads of dodgy questions and were really rude. I called Yorkshire Bank myself to check, and it was a scam. They manage to make it seem like it's a Yorkshire number on your phone, but it definitely isn’t the real bank.

Got a call from this number earlier today but didn’t answer it cause the number seemed off.

‭0800 345 7365‬ Just got a call from this number and hung up straight away as I’ve been hit by scams lately. Also got a call from ‭0345 740 4404‬ claiming to be HSBC but it was a fake. When I ended that call and rang HSBC directly, it still linked back to that scam call even after going through all their security checks and voice ID. My advice? Don’t pick up if you don’t know the number. If you do, hang up ASAP and ring your bank using another phone. Better yet, switch off your phone first to cut the call completely.

Got a ring from this number saying they were from my bank's fraud team. Felt dodgy straight away, especially when the bloke asked for my name - surely they’d know that if it was about my account? Then he wanted me to confirm my customer number, so I just ended the call. NEVER share your info like that. Rang my bank immediately and they said nothing dodgy's been going on and they've flagged the number with the right department.

This number looks like it’s from Clydesdale Bank call centre but it’s actually being used for scams and has no connection with the bank at all. Would recommend always verifying with your bank on a different phone first.

yep, same number but with a deep voice claiming to be bt. if you get a call from a bank, dont call back the number that rung you. they stay on the line and act like the bank. better to use your mobile or ask a neighbour to ring instead.

Got a call from 08003457365, a polite lady with a very proper English accent saying there was some fraud going on with my PayPal. She actually knew my name, which was a bit scary :/. I told her I’d look into it myself and ended the call. Looked up the number on 1471 and saw some reviews confirming my suspicions. Turns out, my PayPal account was totally fine. Pretty clear that was a scam attempt.

Got a call from a nicely spoken woman with an English accent, said she was from Clydesdale Bank. She asked for my online banking details and then my card number, said there was suspicious activity on my account. Be cautious, sounded really legit but definitely a scam, quite risky!

I was under the impression it was Clydesdale Bank calling, and the voice on the line was rather posh, quite elegant, if you will. However, as soon as I mentioned that I didn’t have any dealings with them, they abruptly hung up. Quite peculiar, really!

just gone 1pm on 12/09/18. first thing, im not a clydesdale bank customer. got a call from a bloke with a deep voice saying there was some dodgy transaction flagged, something about india (cant quite remember if it was to or from). when i told him i dont have an account with clydesdale bank, he just dropped the call. looked up the number after and it was 08003457365 - definitely a spam call and pretty sketchy too.

Some bloke rang me twice from this number, claiming he was with the fraud team at Clydesdale Bank and said there was dodgy stuff going on with my account. He asked loads of questions to check my bank details but didn’t know which account I had. I phoned the bank myself and they said it definitely wasn't them and they never use this number to contact customers.
