For the past five days, this number keeps calling non-stop. I’ve blocked it using call protection, but somehow they still manage to get through. They were ringing until 6pm last night and started again bright and early at 8 this morning. It’s really annoying, especially with Christmas round the corner - these people must be scammers.

I'm not very good with computers, so when our AOL email got hacked last week, I rang the number above thinking it was AOL support. A guy called Jordan Miller answered with an Indian accent and spent almost an hour running through checks on our computer. He seemed trustworthy at first, but then he asked for an upfront payment of £80 to Microsoft, saying their Level 2 technicians would fix everything. I told him I couldn't afford that, and he told me not to use AOL until I paid him by contacting that same number again. Later the same day, our daughter managed to reset the password, but we’re still having issues because incoming emails are going straight to our deleted folder. I’m worried we don’t really know how to fix it and have no idea what to do next.

I saw this number claiming to be AOL help, so I gave it a ring. A bloke got into my PC and then said some guy from California had hacked it. He said I had to fork out £130 for a year’s Microsoft protection. I didn’t go for it, but I had no clue it wasn’t actually AOL. Now, Windows won’t update on my laptop and I reckon something in the registry has been messed with.

So I had an issue with my Gmail password and rang EE, my network provider. Mary, who was helping me, advised me to contact Gmail on 08002796226. When I called, a guy named David Watson, who claimed to be a technician, got access to my PC. After that, he asked me for £375 to stop some supposed fraudsters from Canada. Honestly, I reckon this whole thing was a scam.
