They somehow knew bits about my account activity, so they must have access to some kind of basic info database on whoever they call. Be careful and ring your bank straight away for peace of mind. Got loads of calls on my mobile but didn’t pick up, rang the number back - guy asked for customer number and part of my security code, then a woman answered saying she was from RBS. No record of them contacting me! I then rang the RBS number on my debit card and eventually they confirmed from their logs that I was the one calling after missing this 0800 number. Received a call this afternoon from Kelly over at Natwest Bank. It was about a financial assessment that had been marked on their system. They're putting forward a digital savings option with a rather attractive interest rate of 5%.

Actually got a call from RBS, seemed legit, but watch out coz scammers might copy this number and act like they’re from your bank.

Someone said they were from RBS. I didn’t pick up but got a voicemail telling me to ring back on a mobile number. I phoned the bank through my banking app and they said that number isn’t theirs.

This number is often used by RBS/NatWest to get in touch with clients. It's just one of several they might ring from. But how can you be sure it's really the bank calling and not some scammer faking the number? Always double-check by phoning your bank directly using the number on your debit card. Don’t just ignore these calls, but definitely don’t take them at face value either.

THIS IS A REAL NUMBER FROM RBS, NOT A SCAM! IF YOU BANK WITH THEM, DON’T JUST BLOCK OR IGNORE IT! HOWEVER, keep in mind that scammers often fake (spoof) numbers from all banks. If your bank rings you, hang up, wait a moment till the line clears, then ring back using the number on your card. Don’t put it off, it could be an important problem with your account. Also, scammers sometimes post fake reports saying bank numbers are scams to trick people into blocking legit calls. If you think your bank might be trying to get in touch, ALWAYS ring them yourself to check.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Natwest close to where I live, wanting to arrange a Zoom call to discuss if they could assist with my finances and interest rates. The person sounded like a woman and seemed genuine at first since she knew my name.

They called me and ended up charging me on my phone, claiming to be my network provider and asking if I wanted to renew, but I already sorted that out like 3 days earlier.
