Got a message from Barclays saying I added a new payee on 07/06/2026. But I definitely didn’t do that! The text came from this number +447732279236. If you’re in the same boat, you might want to ring 0800 229 4360 to check it out.

This was a total scam. I got a message from a dodgy number claiming to be Santander, asking me to call to confirm an OTP for some payment. It seemed fishy right away, and the bank actually had the payment on hold until they could check it. Definitely a fake number trying to trick me.
