Got a text saying I'm in line for a call from a Badger clinician. Then another one saying they couldn't get hold of me and my appointment with Badger is cancelled. Never heard of them before. But looking them up, it seems Badger Medical Ltd in Birmingham offer urgent online medical care. I had called NHS 111 earlier because of an issue.

Is this Badger Medical Services? Not sure. Their website doesn’t list any phone numbers. Just be careful and use your judgement when picking up. Lots of different scammers appear to use this number, but that doesn’t guarantee it isn’t a real number used by Badger’s out of hours doctor service to get in touch with patients. Scammers often use random, computer-made UK phone numbers, and sadly these numbers often belong to genuine businesses or innocent people.

I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent, purporting to be from the Pensions Advisory Service. When I enquired if he worked for the government, he claimed they were 'authorised' by the government to conduct complimentary pension assessments. He was quite keen to offer me advice on my pensions, but I told him that I couldn't provide all my details at that very moment. Instead, I suggested I'd check the official government website and perhaps give him a ring back for verification, especially with all the recent concerns over cyber security. He mentioned he'd try reaching out again, despite my telling him I would be unavailable. Remember, no such thing as a free meal... tread carefully!

Annoying call. Some bloke kept saying 'Hello' but once I figured out I didnt recongise the voice, I just said nothing and hung up. Then about quarter of an hour later, another call came through which I ignored, and when I checked 1471, it showed the number was withheld.

Caller knew my name so I asked who he was (what a cheeky bloke!) Said something I couldn't quite hear, maybe Parker? Claimed he was from a pensions dept or some gov office. I said - is that the actual UK government or just something you’ve invented? Quick hang up from me! I thought they were meant to be cracking down on these dodgy calls now?

I sent a message back on 14/02/17, but these lot clearly don’t get the hint as they keep calling even after being told there’s no point. Now I just ignore the calls and use 1471 once it stops ringing, to see if it’s anything worth worrying about. But still, they won’t quit ringing this number over and over. I reckon they must be getting some hits for them to persist like this. Just checked the number with Truecaller - might be the tool I need.

Like a few others said, they said they were from the "Pension Advisory Council" and spoke with an Asian accent. I asked where they were located, and he answered "Bon Moff". When I googled that, it showed up in a German post. Then I saw something saying it’s an Afrikaans phrase in South Africa meaning "Good legend" or something like that. Bit confusing if you ask me.

Picked up the receiver to hear a rather bland "Hello" on the other end. Clearly a call centre - there was a prolonged silence with the background chatter of an office, followed by the same "Hello?" again. I decided to hang up.

I've received a multitude of calls from individuals purporting to be from the Pension Assessment Centre. The accents of the callers, a man and a woman, clearly suggest they are from an Asian background. They assure me they can secure a much better pension plan than the one I'm currently signed up for. What a waste of my time, merely spouting nonsense! They even expressed a desire to come to my house to gather my pension paperwork.

Is there anyone able to take action against these con artists? Numerous individuals fall victim to such scams, and the awful truth is, there seems to be little in place to safeguard those who unwittingly get roped into these dishonest schemes.

I hardly ever pick up my landline because I predominantly use my mobile these days. Almost every time someone tries to get through on the landline, it’s met with my voicemail, and strangely enough, no one ever bothers to leave a message. When I do receive calls on my mobile, I simply add the numbers to my blocked list. Both of my phones are registered with the Telephone Preference Service, though it appears to have little effect. When I attempted to call that number back, I was greeted with an unobtainable tone. In short, if I don’t recognise a number or wasn’t anticipating a call, I tend to just disregard my phone altogether.

this number keeps ringing my phone but never connects coz i got this new bt phone that makes callers say their name first before i pick up. if you’re also getting loads of annoying calls from this number or other companies, i’d suggest getting a phone with truecall on it. it doesn’t cost anything extra or have a subscription and honestly, it makes you feel way more at ease at home without these muppets pestering you nonstop.

I've been inundated by this number on my home phone for the past five days, ringing me incessantly-around thirty times a day, if you can believe it! Every time I pick up, it’s just dead silence on the other end, which is incredibly frustrating. Does anyone have a clue as to who this number might belong to? They’ve been ringing constantly, and today my boy picked up, only for them to swear at him and call him a ‘mother f***er’. It's disgusting, honestly. These nuisance calls need to be stopped, and that bloke deserves to have his own kids treated the same way just to understand how awful it is. My son just said ‘sorry, I didn’t catch that’ and got insulted for answering his own phone at home.

creative savers keep ringing me non stop, 36 calls in just 3 days! I’ve already reported every single one to TPS and Ofcom, now I’m thinking about telling the ICO as well. Honestly, not sure what else I can do. I’ve changed my answer machine to pick up straight away and my message says ‘if youre NOT a nuisance call, please leave your name’. At least I don’t have to pick up, but I still note down the time of each call for complaints.

Just a heads up, there are a few other numbers being used as well - 0002879285087, 01224781040, and 0002879285088. The person on those calls also said they were from Creative Savers. Stay careful!

Got a call from an asian guy who said his name was sam! He said if i just answered a few questions i wouldn’t get any more calls from them. He even said my name and address, so i asked where he got my details from. He told me it was all public info, then he read out my phone number and asked if it was right. I asked again where he got my number and he said same place as my address. I told him my number’s not public, i’m on the x directory. He then said sorry loads and hung up! I’m thinking maybe he mixed up the x directory and tps. Will see if they call again.
