This number is legit, it’s from Scottish Power just checking if you want a Smets_2 smart meter fitted for free. Loads of people are saying wrong things here. By law and their automated system, they can’t ring you again for at least 4 hours and 1 minute as OFGEM rules say. Also, if you speak properly to the agent and sort the data protection stuff, you can get them to block any more calls by making a note on your file, but you gotta get through data protection first.

Guys, make sure you report this kind of harassment to OFGEM and British Telecom. I phoned Scottish Power to try and complain but at first, they just refused to take it. Keep pushing them to listen. No surprise they’re showing fewer complaints if they don’t even let folks file them properly!

These calls are from Scottish Power always ringing up and bothering folks. They even said it was compulsory by law to get one fitted. They told me they'd just turn up at my house to install one unless I set a date. There's NO law forcing anyone to have a smart meter. Scottish Power also said they can call me no matter what I say, BUT THAT'S NOT TRUE. You can sign up with the telephone preference service and their own do-not-call list. After that, they’re not allowed to bother you again.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Scottish Power, said they were "just nearby" and wanted to book an appointment. Kept talking over me when I said no to their smart meter. Ended up blocking the number on my phone!

Yep, it’s that smart meter pestering once more. I switched away from one energy firm last year due to this hassle, and now Scottish Power have started doing the same, even though I got an email saying they’ve marked me as opted out. I guess the installers just get a whole list of customers to ring up. Got 5 calls yesterday and 3 today. Luckily, I’ve got Call Guardian blocking the constant ringing, but it still logs the number so I can check how many times they’ve been at it.

Just got back from Nova Scotia and there’s a major push back against Scottish Power Smart Meters over there. People are worried about these things watching everything you do at home all the time, plus the radiation levels from the signals seem risky. Also, loads of folks have been hit with massive bills because the readings are often wrong. Quite worrying stuff!

This number won’t stop phoning and texting me about smart meters but here’s the thing - I’m with British Gas already, and I’ve had a smart meter fitted ages ago! They’re saying I booked an appointment for a new one and missed it, and keep sending texts about it. I called them up and someone said sorry and promised to take me off their list, but clearly that’s not happened ‘cos the messages keep coming! Been thinking bout changing provider anyway, now I'm certain I will. This site’s a lifesaver. Won't block the calls unfortunately, but at least I know it's just a utility firm pestering and not something dodgier. They honestly do themselves a disservice as loads of folks like me just ignore calls from numbers they dont recognise.

Looked it up, no voicemail or anything. I’m with Scottish Power but honestly thinking of switching if this keeps happening. If I wanted a Smart Meter I'd request it myself. Scottish Power usually do well, but this constant hassle needs to end. Would be nice if they left a message! I have no idea how they got hold of my number since I’ve never had anything to do with Scottish Power (if that’s who they’re supposed to be based on other comments). Got a call from Scottish Power, my energy supplier, about setting up a Smart Meter. I told the chap that my landlord wouldn’t allow it and he said he’d make a note. Haven’t heard back since. I had already emailed them about this before, so maybe their records aren’t great. The caller was nice and professional, didn’t ask for any personal details. Seemed like a genuine call.

Didn't pick up the call. Sounds about right it was Scottish Power, they supply my electricity and I aint got one of those smart meters. Got three calls in as many days. Really irritating when I’m trying to get on with my job.
